Rahul Gandhi's scheduled visit to Kolkata on the 23rd April has been cancelled. Rahul Gandhi was scheduled to arrive in Kolkata on the 23rd April for election campaigning. The Congress party alleges that, acting at the behest of the Mamata government, the local administration—specifically the police—denied permission for the visit. According to the Congress, they waited until 6:00 PM, but as permission was not granted, it is no longer possible to make preparations for the event.
