The UN experts specifically raised concerns about platforms hosting content tied to trafficking, child sexual abuse, and nonconsensual material, while victims face enormous barriers to getting abusive content removed. They also called out weak age verification and inadequate moderation systems that leave children especially vulnerable online. UN experts are sounding the alarm on the complicity of online pornographic platforms in exploitation and abuse. The harms of the pornography industry are not hypothetical, they are global, documented, and devastating. It’s time for governments and Big Tech to stop looking the other way.

A new study found that viewing pornography may impair the brain’s ability to make sound decisions, raising serious concerns about its impact on mental health, relationships, and overall well-being. Pornography doesn’t exist in a vacuum. Its effects can shape how people think, process risk, and respond to the world around them. We must stop normalizing an industry that profits from harm and exploitation. @fairplayforkids and NCOSE just filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission requesting an investigation into Roblox over alleged unfair and deceptive practices that put children’s safety and well-being at risk. Roblox says more than 30 million of its daily users are children under 13. The complaint raises concerns about predatory contact, harmful content, and misleading safety claims made to parents. Kids deserve real protections online. Today, the FTC began enforcing the TAKE IT DOWN Act — a law requiring online platforms to remove nonconsensual abusive content in 48 hours, with financial penalties for noncompliance. The FTC also launched TakeItDown.ftc.gov where survivors can report platforms that fail to remove abuse images.

The digital world is changing fast, and parents are being asked to keep up with risks that are showing up in the everyday spaces kids use online. Parents shouldn’t have to navigate that alone. That’s why NCOSE created Parent Center, a free tool designed to help families stay informed, recognize risks, start important conversations, and better protect children online. Our new Parent Center tool is ready to use now at the link below. 👇 buff.ly/yn35LNI #NCOSE #EndExploitation #ParentCenter #Parents #Families #ProtectKidsOnline #RaisingChildren #ParentingResources #Resource

The Supreme Court declined to hear the child exploitation case against X/Twitter, a deeply disappointing decision for survivors and advocates seeking accountability from Big Tech. The ruling tees up a renewed battle in Congress over Section 230 reform and leaves unresolved whether tech companies can continue claiming sweeping immunity even when child sexual abuse material is distributed on their platforms. Congress must act to ensure Section 230 is not used to shield platforms from accountability in cases involving child exploitation. If this were your under-age son, would you be happy with SCOTUS' decision on Section 230? SCOTUS declined to review "a shocking 9th Circuit Court ruling in John Doe #1 and John Doe #2 v. Twitter, Inc. that held Section 230 provided Twitter (now X) with legal immunity for knowingly possessing and distributing child sexual abuse material (CSAM), and for knowingly benefitting from a sex trafficking venture," according to National Center on Sexual Exploitation. "Plaintiffs John Doe #1 and John Doe #2 together were solicited and recruited for sex trafficking as minors. After they escaped from the manipulation, child sexual abuse material depicting them was disseminated on Twitter while they were still children. When Twitter was alerted to this fact and the ages of the children, Twitter refused to remove the illegal material and instead continued to distribute and profit from the sexual abuse of the children. Twitter even reported back to John Doe #1 that it had reviewed the video and decided that it did not violate their policies and would not be taken down. "This resulted in the child sexual abuse material accumulating over 167,000 views before it was finally removed through federal law enforcement intervention." How long will we allow our children to be the currency of darkness? More: endsexualexploitation.org/articles/scotu…
