Okay, so after making some calls, this seems like the Bloomberg article is making a mountain out of a molehill here. But here is what we know. ASA has not taken a public position on the amendment and is not actively opposing the House vote. ASA says any reporting claiming it has formally opposed the legislation is inaccurate.
Latest data I have indicates 61% of all Non-Irrigated Corn counties will have an ECO payment. Average payment will be about $31/acre, but lots of max payments. 50% of NI SBs ($18) 56% of NI Wheat acres ($15)
Why I oppose the E15 bill and support fuel freedom: ➡️The E15 bill permanently expands the ethanol mandate. (Applies it to smaller refineries and loosens air quality rules that limit the mandate’s reach.) ➡️The E15 bill raises gasoline prices a lot long-term 1) cripples small refiners and lowers competition 2) we have to pay for expensive ethanol credits 3) we have to pay for ethanol when it’s more expensive than gasoline ➡️The E15 bill does nothing to lower gasoline prices short-term. (Admin has already allowed E-15 this year.) Congress should vote against this E15 bill and replace it with a fuel freedom bill: allow all ethanol blends in exchange for no ethanol mandate.
The B1G does not need Notre Dame, but when the general accepted hierarchy of power in CFB is SEC commissioner, B1G commissioner, and ND AD at the top echelon, you cannot afford to let your competitor court the other major power broker. Plus FOX & CBS would like ND inventory.
Major bombshell from @Brett_McMurphy earlier today stating, ND - ACC partnership WILL end at some point. When it does, can ND survive as a total independent? Would B1G, SEC, or XII be willing to do a similar partnership? If not, does ND do the unthinkable and join a conference?
.@JeffaStier nails it: drug ads don’t write prescriptions. Doctors do. Attacking protected speech that helps patients seek care is the wrong answer.
