You know the feeling when you purify a protein (Tet1), but don't have a great antibody or activity assay for it, and then you wonder "did I just purify random bacterial junk"? Then your friend mass specs it for free and it IS Tet1. Yay!! Phew!

Fond memories of sitting in Scott's office, breathing in a cloud of Jerry's pipe smoke. So lucky to have known him.
