An Argentinian side with average players won the World Cup. Only players like Messi and Di Maria were proven World class players at the time. We're talking about a 35 year old Messi. In as much as the team wasn't weak, they were so average compared to other World Cup winning sides. It also wasn't helped by the fact that Argentina recorded the most penalties ever in a single World Cup tournament by any nation ever throughout the 96 years history. This is just a harmless observation by a passionate football lover.

I just realized Argentina have scored more goals than France with an attack of Mbappe, Olise, Dembele and Doue. That's an incredible stat to be honest. Then I realized that Argentina has been playing Jordan, Algeria, Austria, Egypt, Switzerland and Cape Verde. While France on the other hand have played teams like Norway, Morocco, Senegal, Sweden and Paraguay. Argentina somehow got the easiest fixture out of every big team. What an incredible coincidence.
