94% of Alberta's Court of Appeal judges were appointed by Ottawa Liberals. 83% of Alberta's Court of King's Bench judges were appointed by Ottawa Liberals. Alberta votes Conservative. Alberta is judged Liberal. Independence fixes this.

@ChubbyFunsterGC "WotC rejects union"? What does that mean? Reject the idea that the employees can unionize to make it so they can never be fired?

WotC D&D is following the same path as CRPGs. In the CRPG market, we saw amazing single player games pushed aside to bring forth a cascade of forgettable MMOs, updated frequently to adjust for the new meta. Eventually the servers are turned off and you are left with nothing. WotC D&D is now following the same path. The first "drop" they offer is a bandit encounter, the most cliche of cliches. What follows will certainly be endless tripe produced by either low-skill writers or AI (doesn't matter in the end). They will produce content piecemeal, leaving the GM to sort it all out in the end, which defeats the entire purpose of using published content. It is supposed to make the GM's job easier. If you want to see what this looks like in practice, we actually already know! Just check out my analysis of Curse of Strahd on YT; a mix of silo'd locations that are barely related to each other, no structural tools to help the GM integrate it, terrible connective tissue in the form of tables and guides, and so on. Incoherent slop dumped in the GM's lap. Rather than create beautiful unified works like Gods of the Forbidden North or Dolmenwood, WotC will dump a truckload of disconnected and unrelated content in your lap. What they have done to the Forgotten Realms, they will replicate outward; despoiling every setting they have until it is all worthless and dumb. You thought splatbooks were bad? Now with just a click and a subscription fee, your players can gain access to everything under the sun. Why can't I play a tiefling-dragonborn that exudes magical sap to protect me like platemail? Its in update 289729019438 that just dropped yesterday!?! Tiefling hate is not some quirky thing, it is a disgust reaction to the defilement of what used to be consistent, organized fantasy worlds into kitchen-sink slop fests where anything goes. You can't have a unique and wonderful setting without drawing the line somewhere. This is the problem with multiverses. Its like dumping random foods into a pot and calling it a meal. You have to actually make a series of specific choices about what to include/reject to make a good meal, to make a setting, to make a game. I am personally moving toward exclusively producing intricate, coherent books aimed at providing a unique, high-quality experience over a long-term campaign. Something you buy and implement at your table for a year or more. Something worth owning that has anticipated your needs and presents it in a way that makes your job easier. I want to provide people with that legendary campaign that they brag on playing. I actually detailed my outlook on this today in a YT video, first reviewing this list as a summary of my goals when playing TTRPGs: • Long Term Campaign Experience • Realistic, Vast & Challenging World • Unique & Intriguing Opposition • Surprising & Unexpected Events • Wide Range of Player Choice • Opportunities for PC Advancement • Fair and Consistent Adjudication Then presenting my best estimation of how to actually get all of these results at the table, none of which involve a piecemeal subscription service that provides little/no stability or control to the end-user. Check it out at the link below if you are interested. Sorry for the rant. I'm tired and cranky.

You really can't make this up. A White guy in Toronto stopped a bike thief. A black man on a scooter rode up to break up the fight. The teen the black man saved then tries to steal his scooter. What in the world.

I have a 6yo nephew who is obsessed with cars and I am a woman who has basically the bare minimum car knowledge. Last time my nephew was staying with me, I took him to a vintage car show. Kid had the time of his life voting for his favorite car and telling everyone what he liked about theirs. My advice if you have a son who likes tractors is to take him to see some tractors. It's ok if kids don't end up with the interests we wanted. Tractors and people who drive them are important to society.

@TheBabylonBee The Amish aren't missing anything with the new Dune movies. I can't believe they're even making more, the 2nd one was so terrible. I don't understand how anyone could have gone to see it after the first few should've complained that they changed almost everything from the books.

🚨 BREAKING: The US just suspended the Permanent Joint Board on Defense. It survived: ✅ World War II ✅ The Cuban Missile Crisis ✅ The entire Cold War ✅ 9/11 ✅ 13 prime ministers ✅ 15 presidents ❌ It did not survive one year of Mark Carney. The Pentagon paused the 86-year-old alliance and pointed the statement directly at his Davos speech. 86 YEARS OF FRIENDSHIP. GONE IN ONE SPEECH.

@ksorbs Capitalism means that we own what we make is the greatest evil on earth? Not people who kill women for going to school? Not people who get kids to mutilate women to desensitize them before forcing them to join their military? Not people who torture people to join their religion?
