BMI has always been a metric to assess for cardiometabolic risk. Waist:hip ratio performs well and better in chronic inflammation. We have shown the value of CT-measures of visceral vs subcutaneous adipose tissue prior, but now, check out how specific depots of fat matter 👇🏽

People with more visceral fat have a ~44% increased likelihood of developing cancer and heart disease, even when adjusting for waist circumference.
