Just had a ride in the NVIDIA autonomous vehicle. I could argue that the Tesla is slightly smoother, but that is missing the point. The point I learned this week by hanging out with a bunch of different companies building autonomous vehicles is that AI at a variety of different companies is evolving so quickly that within 18 months you will see a bunch of different ones shipping and moving from level two (gotta pay attention) to level four (no human needed). Now the narrative will switch to one of scale. Uber went from an idea in a Paris snow storm to an international company driving people who live in slums in South Africa in four years. My expectation is that AVs will reach the slum in less time. Will it be a USA based company like Tesla? Or a Chinese company that reaches the slum (hence meaning it will reach at least 25% of humans on earth in between) first? We now will switch to one of convincing people AVs are a better way to get around than having humans drive. Regulation. Liability. Butts in seats. Experience. Price. And to all the engineers who worked in these things for 20 years: thank you. Your efforts will save millions of lives so my kids won’t have to go to more funerals when they are my age. Seven years ago @IrenaCronin and I wrote it is coming in our book. It took a while but it is finally here. Now the hard work of convincing every naysayer and hater is here.

@James95113983 @Scobleizer @rajuvamsi007 Exactly. I don't think the manufacturer will need to ever take liability for this. Gun manufacturers don't take liability for countless deaths. Neither do knive makers, or alcohol companies, or swimming pool companies for drownings, etc. The list can go on to eternity.

@Scobleizer @rajuvamsi007 This is why we have auto insurance. Once the AV players have reached certain safety levels, insurance carriers will be happy to participate since safer systems mean less losses and more profits. I am sure they already have the algorithms ready to go.🙂

@Scobleizer @rajuvamsi007 In my mind, the user should still be liable for many years. Its our choice to use the tech. If we want to sleep while it drives, thats our choice. If we want to supervise FSD, its our choice. Its a different story once they remove steering wheels from all cars.

@Scobleizer 100%. I've been using V14 for the past 5 months and I can see how much safer it is. I'm sick and tired of people discounting this tech. I see drivers constantly speeding through stop signs, flipping others off, tailgating, driving recklessly, weaving, etc. FSD does none of that.

I added $TSLA and $NVDA today. Even though I’m 67, I’m willing and able to be very patient with Elon and Jensen at the helm. Plus I have a contrarian perspective on risk at my age: If I live 5 more years, or longer, nothing that happens this year will matter. If I die tomorrow, nothing that happens this year will matter. I appreciate your content.

I remain extremely bullish on Tesla , as well as on NVIDIA and Bitcoin / MSTR. The challenge is the market and potentially large tail risk for unhinged Iran situation that is not (at all ) priced into the market. That creates a tricky situation and I don’t want full exposure. The upside risk is a surprise resolution of Iran (late Taco). The other upside risk is Tesla and Cybercab scaling, but that is at a minimum a few weeks out - and in a bear market , Tesla won’t rally on early signs
