Today's most underrated car brand is showing no signs of slowing down: Did you know Mazda almost didn’t make it as a car brand? The Japanese automaker faced one financial crisis after another, struggling to survive through the ‘90s. At one point, Ford stepped in, raising its stake to 33.4% to stabilize the company and steer its direction. But after the Great Financial Crisis, Ford sold off its shares, and by 2015, Mazda was on its own. Fast forward a decade, and Mazda is one of the most successful "independent" brands. Here’s why— 1. Growing sales and market share. Mazda’s sales jumped 16.8% in 2024, setting a new record with over 424,000 units sold— Leading the brand to a 10-year high in market share. And according to Haig Partners, the average Mazda dealer is selling 55% more new cars than in 2019—the highest increase of any brand. In an otherwise steady market—Mazda’s vehicles are racing off showroom floors nationwide. But what’s fueling all this growth? 2. Smart product strategy and solid inventory. The brand mixes mainstream and premium—positioning itself as a lifestyle brand and carving out a niche as a “budget BMW" (a bit of a stretch—I know). But Mazda’s focus on affordability and SUVs like the CX-70 and CX-90 is paying off. And with inventory steady—neither too much nor too little—Mazda dealers are keeping cars moving off lots. Even better? Dealers are reporting consistent production and steady supply chains—a rarity in today’s market. Which means... 3. Dealer profitability is through the roof. Mazda dealers saw profits jump 85% from pre-COVID levels, and fewer storefronts have made the brand more efficient. Dealership values are also climbing—with Mazda’s Blue Sky multiples now rivaling Ford and Chevrolet. The bottom line: Mazda isn’t just capturing momentum—it’s holding onto it. And with plans to hit 450,000 U.S. sales this year, here’s what to watch: - A strong partnership with Toyota - Increasing incentives - And a stronger hybrid push But what do you think? Is Mazda an underrated gem? Read the breakdown here, together with @lotlinx : carguymedia.com/3WngqFU

[NEWS] Mazda dealers are riding high on a profit spike: Compared to pre-COVID levels — net dealer profits are up 85% and brand sales continue to climb — Mazda sold 350K vehicles through Oct., an 18% jump from last year. The reason? The automaker has kept inventory steadily flowing and ramped up incentives — While competitors like Toyota and Honda purposefully keep the supply/demand balance tight. Bottom line: Mazda has moved upmarket in the last decade — dramatically improving design, reliability, and affordability… making it a serious contender in the battle for market share. On this day in 2009 I lost a close friend to suicide. It haunts me to this day. Was there more I could have done? Having his mom hand me a pic of me and him from college (which he kept in a frame on his desk) at his funeral broke me...

Q5 We've argued the path, or lack thereof. But can a entry-level job lead to a successful career, or are they distinct (undocumented) paths? Share examples that challenge the norm. I'm aware that this may lead to a conversation about #DEI. #CareerVsJob #AVinTheAM #AVtweeps
