@carolvorders @RishiSunak @carolvorders thank you for voicing what many of us think. Especially those of us with family members who fought in both wars and are no longer with us. We won't forget their sacrifice, even if others do.

Rishi Sunak is A hypocrite and a liar Who has shown nothing but disrespect to a proud generation of veterans on D-Day. But he hasn't simply disrespected the wonderful veterans who were there yesterday @RishiSunak is the Prime Minister, and in this single action has shown contempt for all those who fought throughout the war. My generation and older (60+) grew up as children with our families who had fought in the war, still living it. It was in the air and it was what they spoke of often. We were taught a reverence towards it. It brings us to tears very easily , not for anything we have done , but for the memory of those we loved who did what they had to do. All families have their stories of horror and bravery and sacrifice including mine. In turn our parents had grown up with their fathers, grandfathers and uncles being cannon fodder in World War One. This age group, my age group, even though the vast majority of us played no part in the war, will never forgive Sunak for this, or forget what he's done. In insulting the veterans yesterday , he's insulted our families too. Note: Watch for the scramble from Tory MPs who've been happy to deceive the public for years, try and save their own skins by denouncing Sunak in the coming days "Nothing to do with me " "Oh he's made a mistake" "Labour would be worse" All the usual messages from charlatans
Rishi Sunak@RishiSunak

The 80th anniversary of D-Day has been a profound moment to honour the brave men and women who put their lives on the line to protect our values, our freedom and our democracy. This anniversary should be about those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. The last thing I want is for the commemorations to be overshadowed by politics. I care deeply about veterans and have been honoured to represent the UK at a number of events in Portsmouth and France over the past two days and to meet those who fought so bravely. After the conclusion of the British event in Normandy, I returned back to the UK. On reflection, it was a mistake not to stay in France longer – and I apologise.

@MartinSLewis Unfortunately, whilst the 2p reduction in NI helped the majority, it did nothing for pensioners who paid into it all their working life, but no longer pay it.

A few people annoyed with me that I've been positive about some announcements. Sorry but I'm not party political, if I believe an individual announcement is good I'll call it that. If it's bad I'll call it that. Eg. wiping the cost of debt relief orders is something many who focus on debt help have wanted a long time, it is good news, whichever party announces it. #Budget2024 #BudgetXplanations

@carolvorders Steve was somebody who was like the late queen, almost a family member, always there in the back ground; in your home or in the car, whatever you are going through, he cheered you up.

The world is finally aware that the “Islamic” Republic of Iran have been funding and training the terrorists that attacked Israel. So here are SOME QUESTIONS FOR THE REGIME: HOW DO YOU EVEN DARE TO SPEAK OUT against Israeli oppression, when 10M Jews, Christians, Bahá’ís and Muslims have left Iran for fear of being killed or meaninglessly executed? HOW DO YOU DARE TO TRY and align yourselves with an oppressed people, when you’ve raped & slaughtered your own people for the past 44 years? HOW DO YOU DARE TO SPARK A WAR THAT NO ONE WANTS except a fanatical minority which celebrates the slaughter of Israeli civilians, including hundreds of women & children? HOW DO YOU DARE DISPLACE 260,000 Palestinians so children continue to be born in Gaza with no prospects other than a choice between misery or death? NO ONE WANTS more war crimes inflicted on yet more civilians. What is coming is chilling. And it will get worse: Russia backing the IRI because they’re dependent on the IRGC for military hardware & drones, war in the Ukraine, the US parked in the Mediterranean and Israel fighting Hamas in the south, Hezbollah in the north and potentially the IRI too, it’s a world war that will affect every single one of us. If we are humanitarians, everyone of us on this platform must call for a cease fire immediately. We know what each side is capable of. Killing more innocent people gets us nowhere other than a fast track to Armageddon.

@padmastermark @JohnCleese With people I knew involved in the Wapping dispute, I know how difficult it was for the Chapels involved in the strike. The are other governments in the world who are openly corrupt. Ours hides bebind a veil of respectabilty.

Unbelievably corrupt. How the hell does our prime minister know how we live. He is a multi multi millionaire’s wife is a billionaire. Sometimes I think to myself after being what they call an FOC which is basically the shop steward in the Newspaper industry I had to deal with high ranking people including the editor of the Guardian Murdoch McLennan for the daily Telegraph. Yet I was very good at getting the redundancy packages that was suitable. At 55. I am really thinking of standing in for my local MPs job. I think it’s people like me that I’ve got a foot on the ground is what this country needs or people like me. Something has got to change this page is awesome.

People criticising the wage asks of public sector workers: You need to remember they’ve had years of real-terms pay cuts going into this. That’s why their situation is so dire. If you clapped them two years ago, support them now. It’s more important.

Last year we clapped with the NHS now we must stand with the NHS with their pay claim. Our Branch Committee met today and we will support our NHS members in their pay claim and applause them for what they do day in day out, year in year out.
