@Neil_Jetter

May you do good and not evil. May you find forgiveness for yourself and forgive others. May you share freely, never taking more than you give.

It's insane that we still do this survey larp when we have the technological ability to know exactly how many people are employed at any given moment.
Carl@HistoryBoomer

@Great_Chumpion @AnnieLowrey The Bureau of Labor Statistics does a monthly household survey of people. Seasonal workers are counted if they are looking for work. People who have more than one job are only counted once (it's a survey per person, not per job).

Hopelessly addicted to my own game Snap Shot Golf. Which is the best sign that I've done a good job. 👌😎

I think we need to build this. I designed this below image, representing Lewis and Clark on the Mississippi in the style of Argonath. At $1 Billion or more, I think it can be done.

@EricRichards22 The biggest problem with this argument is "while others surge ahead." This is simply not true. Every country accepting mass immigration/migration has slowed their economic growth and aren't innovating ahead of those that don't. The data is quite clear here.

THE WORLD'S GREATEST DAD IN THE WORLD
Someone with fewer distractions than I ought to build a list of ideas and beliefs that were novel or rare until the 20th century, because those are the ideas and beliefs that are going to be gone by the 22nd century, and we ought to get a head start.

It's really a conundrum. I'm making more software than ever before yet the market is dead so not making any money.

I mentioned earlier that screen sizes and safe areas were the hardest part of developing Snap Shot Golf, but I’ve spent much more time on controls and interactions… It took many failed attempts before I realised I could use a second finger to shape shots like plucking a bow. 🏹

@Neil_Jetter @usgraphics Oh, that's very nice! I'll be showing that to some friends, for sure. I think the last one I saw was SuperCard, but I hadn't gone looking in years.

ZFS and Wireguard are S-tier IMO. Anything else like it (barring UNIX programs and decades old stuff)? Not once has wg package let me down. It works flawlessly. ZFS is such a great abstraction of storage, feels so comfortable to use it.

The software industry has been incredibly undisciplined for decades. Middle managers have avoided ever having to be accountable for performance via 'agile'. AI gives execs an excellent opportunity to take back power from middle management.
