I wonder how many of these racists who have been posting online about the brilliant Adeleke actually help out at their local sports club and contribute to the well being of young people. It would actually be deeply worrying if they do in many ways.

@IrishSnapper @TVsCarlKinsella She won three medals. That’s what usually happens. The person who wins the most gets the most amount of attention. In addition she is 20, her potential is huge. This is not the school sports day.

@TVsCarlKinsella Fair play to her. She did a great thing. What really annoys people though is that fact we are hearing nothing about the other athletes. Why make a big deal out of an African Irish Girl but much less about her Irish Team. Makes 0 sense.

Well done Brian Cox for raising the elephant in the room that most politicians are too terrified to mention in this election - the catastrophic damage which has been inflicted & continues to be inflicted on the UK economy by Brexit BBC’s Laura Kuenssberg almost fell off her chair

Rhasidat is Tallaght born, bread and buttered. A true Irish superstar and the sweetest person. She’d make you proud to be Irish whilst the knuckledraggers trying to tear her down would make you ashamed. This racist culture that has taken hold in Ireland needs to be challenged now

Not one Spanish player singing their national anthem, not even when the camera scanned to the bench. Am I missing something or is that their tradition 😕 #EURo2024

Nice car, right? The driver of this car was pulled over today in Dublin City. They were a learner who had no L Plates, no tax and no qualified driver sitting with them. We can confirm the car is just as nice on the back of the truck that towed it away. #SaferRoads

Just like @rhasidatadeleke - I was born in Dublin and grew up in Tallaght. I’m very proud to have come from the same place as her - one of Ireland’s greatest ever athletes. She’s a hero and an inspiration 💚 Racists will never, ever win

@CraigHope_DM @MailSport Jim Gavin used to do this with the Dublin team too. Fair play to Southgate for learning from the best.

@Sarahjdublin @HugoMills The nasty account is just that. I am in Hugo’s corner, I voted number one for him. I don’t waste my time with trolls. Hugo clearly is respected local representative who has put his head above the parapet and I think it would be a better look to stay away from such trolls.

@Clearpreso When people campaign for more people less like then, thats when you need to listen. Before that it’s just an extension of self promotion.

I'm not a fan of Maria Walsh, and I'd literally never heard of Nina Carberry before... but a Gender Studies academic deciding to distill women politicians down to "a rose of tralee" & "a strangely silent jockey" seems out of line with our wanting more women in politics?

@HugoMills Hugo I have you the number one but I think this is bad form abusing someone on social media and also asking people to take down your posters. All sorts of risks if people do it. You should probably think through this exchange.
