KRA will soon be able to freeze or even seize M-Pesa and bank accounts before you can fully appeal a tax dispute. This is one of the most dangerous proposals in the Finance Bill 2026, which is being ignored. Right now, Section 42(8)(e) of the Tax Procedures Act protects taxpayers by stopping KRA from issuing agency notices to banks, SACCOs, employers, and M-Pesa over disputed taxes during an appeal. But the Finance Bill 2026 by Mbadi etc seeks to DELETE paragraph (e). If passed, KRA could recover money immediately after issuing a tax assessment, even before your appeal is concluded. Think about how dangerous that is. Your business can be punished first, then told to defend itself later. Imagine waking up and finding your business account emptied over a disputed tax bill or frozen. Suddenly, you are unable to pay Salaries, rent, etc Your Business could stall instantly. And remember, even under the current law, if you lose the appeal, you still eventually pay anyway. So why is the government suddenly desperate to seize first and argue later?

Finance Bill 2026 wants to make you helpless before KRA. Right now, the law says: - If you lose a tax case at the Tax Tribunal and appeal to the High Court, • KRA cannot freeze your bank accounts • Until your appeal is heard and finalized. That protection is called Section 42(14)(e) of TPA. The Bill wants to DELETE it. Completely. Meaning: Even if you have appealed your case to the high court, KRA can still: - Freeze your bank accounts - Grab money in your bank accounts - Collect money from your tenants and customers All while the tax case is live in court. Implications: • Pay now, argue later becomes the law • Businesses shall lose all cash during active disputes • You may win in court but find your business already dead This is one of the most dangerous sentences in the Finance Bill 2026.

There is a new proposal under the Finance Bill 2026 that seeks to change tax return filing deadlines. — Normal returns will now be filed by 30 April instead of 30 June — Nil returns must be filed by 31 January — Filing is now aligned with tax payment deadlines

🚨🎙️ Patrice Evra on Michael Carrick leaving Casemiro and Benjamin Sesko out against Sunderland: 🗣️ “For the people asking why Michael Carrick completely left Casemiro and Sesko out of the squad against Sunderland, and then played Mason Mount and Bruno Fernandes in deeper roles… For me, it was a message to the board. A clear message that this squad can start a project, but it still cannot take Manchester United to the highest level consistently. People were shocked by the lineup, but sometimes managers make decisions to expose the reality of the squad. Do you think Carrick doesn’t know Casemiro improves this team? Of course he does. But maybe he also wanted the club to see what this team looks like without certain leaders and experienced players. I know fans always want to see the strongest XI, but sometimes a manager has to make a bigger point than just winning one football match.”

Today, we reveal that some persons and institutions in Kenya exported 4,892kg of human blood and blood fractions in 2024, according to World Bank data. I’ll attach the evidence in the replies. That’s roughly over 4,600 litres of blood, equivalent to around 9,000-11,000 blood donations of Kenyan blood. The exporters made over $266,000 from these exports. And this is just what was documented; the amounts are likely higher than that. Yet hospitals across the country are facing blood shortages, and every day, Kenyans are on social media desperately looking for blood donors to save lives. This is the part many people don’t know: Blood is not just for transfusions. Plasma and blood fractions are valuable products traded globally for huge amounts of money. So while Kenyans donate blood for free, believing it is purely for saving lives, a huge part of that blood enters a commercial system, and people are making money out of it. That is why I have always argued that blood donors in Kenya should be compensated just like in the US. The rate should be upto 45$. Not just soda and bread. What makes this even worse is the silence around it. The media rarely talks about it because the moment people understand there is money in blood, many will start asking hard questions. Kenyans deserve full transparency on where this blood is going and who is benefiting. Many more revelations are coming. Also, keep in mind the exact data in Kenya is extremely difficult to get, govt will never give you data on who exported the blood, they will take you round in circles.
