The first paper out of the Snell lab is live! This review was led by my postdoc Dr. Nichelle Jackson. We dove into the cerebellar contribution to dystonia, specifically focusing on Purkinje cell and cerebellar nuclei dysfunction and calcium handling. frontierspartnerships.org/journals/dysto…

We share the good. We share the bad - tonight was awful. Twins had their boosters for the flu shot, were inconsolable, and I was up all night. I couldn’t write a word. Three grants to write, and I’m brain dead. I guess I’ll try again tomorrow. (We’re all just people.)

Rejection sucks, especially when they come back to back. As a new PI that applied to about 1-2 grants a month for the past 9 months, I have had a couple of wins, but also some rejections. I know there will be many more of both, so onward and upward!

You know how adults seem to be so well composed and sure of everything? I have to rent a car today to check out houses that we may buy in Alabama and I am freaking out. The mere thought of it is filling me with anxiety. Don’t ask me why. I guess I’m not good at adulting.

I’ve encountered a number of people (in interviews) that don’t have English names. Apologetic, they say “but you can call me *insert small, easy to pronounce and remember name*”. Don’t do it. Ask them what their actual name sounds like. Try. Being on the other side hurts.

Their bites can't break our skin or that of pets. However, if I saw one gliding towards me I would probably expire. We made it through the murder hornets(which just disappeared I guess?) I feel like we can make it through this too!
