Hosted my 9th dating event last Saturday in NYC. 15 men, 15 women, 5x oversubscribed. “I’d join one of these every weekend. Such an easy way to make deeper connections. Wayyyy better than other options.” — Founder “I’ve been burnt out and pessimistic about dating, thinking there aren’t any good guys left. But I came out of it feeling hopeful! How do I find more of this in NYC?!” — NYU Alum “Everyone was incredibly kind, introspective, and willing to be vulnerable. I came out of it with useful frameworks to practice in my dating and general life.” — Stripe PM Thank you to @JaredSleeper for providing the venue for the 3rd year in a row. My next event is in SF on June 10. Apply or recommend a friend (link in bio).

When I'm president, I'm going to require elevators to have a display that displays the current floor position of the elevator from the outside on every floor. I will also require loading screens to provide details on the processes occurring during loading.

I predicted this in 2015: that CS would become flooded with average joes and become watered down so I focused on machine intelligence. The next domain that will be flooded with average joes is agentic systems (although still necessary to build proficiency in), as we see is already happening; thus the domain to focus in to get ahead of the next impending wave is cybernetics

@dviolettchan I think cs used to be less toxic because people who majored in it were actually interested in it. Sometime in 2016-17, it became the new business degree, the default choice for people who just want to climb the corporate ladder.

CS used to be a relatively less toxic field because the tools were open and cheap. You could do meaningful research with a laptop, or maybe a single GPU. Those good old days are probably never coming back. (1/3)

someone analyzed all 5000+ accepted papers at ICLR 2026, and it's a good signal who's pushing the research of AI: > China has surpassed the US with 43.7% of the papers > Europe's contribution is surprisingly small (5.3% including UK)

Teachers average among the least intelligent university graduates. Little of what they 'learn' is even relevant to what they end up doing. In a given year, the lowest-scoring groups on the GRE, SAT, and ACT are usually those pursuing degrees in education.
