I do think games would be better off if they had an option to permanently lock stuff like this out on a save file basis. It sucks out some tension since you can never fully erase the knowledge that you can flip a switch and the game is insantly easier.

And accessibility options are not cheats because the developper allows you to use it and keep achievements on

I know it’s just games but achievements that represent objective feats feel more rewarding than participation trophies. If achievements don’t matter then why is it important to hand them out? Why not just say “good job!” on-screen or install a “win all trophies” button instead?

For trophies hunter this is without accessibility options, and for normal people this doesn't matter

The value of trophies is very much impacted by how easy they are to get. That's why we can see what % of players got the same achievement. The lower the percent the more accomplished we feel. It's a relative market value.

sry but where is the point of even adding achievements if you can get them if it isn't really an achievement anymore if you remove the challenge and didn't really achieve something?
I'm against grind and nearly impossible achievements but I don't see value in an achievement if everyone gets them with no effort.

If you're curious about our stance: Achievements in Windswept unlock even if you're using assists - grinders will still grind without assists because they love challenges, I'm literally one of them.
