Believers only need to win once.

I’ve been criticized, mocked, doxxed, unfollowed, attacked, swatted and called every name in the book. Life goes on! You can’t spend your life trying to please people who already decided they don’t like you.

Let me explain this complex matter from the perspective of the prosecutor, to aid in understanding to those who care about this family and their beloved Lucy. 1) She has heard, probably quite vocally, from the Karens in the adjoining neighborhood. These Karens may have contributed financially to help elect her, such that feels she owes them at a minimum the benefit of any doubts. 2) She also knows that hell hath no fury like a Karen scorned, and she does not want to alienate them, lest they campaign against her when it comes time to get re-elected. 3) She has sworn to uphold the Constitutions and the law, which most prosecutors take seriously. 4) She has spoken to Brendan, understands his perspective, loves dogs, and wants to make this matter go away quickly and quietly. 5) What happens if she agrees to drop the charges, and heaven forbid, Lucy is involved in another incident? This is where she stands today. In my humble opinion, more emails and more phone calls will have little additional positive effect, as the law of diminishing returns kicks in. What do lawyers do when they can’t solve a problem? They do more research and they gather more evidence. By not releasing Lucy immediately, the prosecutor is demonstrating that she is carefully evaluating the situation. She can get information from the pound as to Lucy’s temperament. She can observe Brendan’s family and their temperament (which has been outstanding given what’s been taken from them). She can, after gathering enough evidence, sustain a professional finding that prosecutorial discretion is merited based on the FACTS, not based on threats or demands. She probably already has a memo written that she will put in the file when she dismisses the charges at the upcoming hearing. In the interim, if something happens to upset this delicate situation, that memo can be shredded and all bets are off. What is NOT happening (imho) is her caught like a deer in the headlights, wondering what to do. She has competing interests advocating for different outcomes, and she must balance those while respecting her duties under the law and to do justice. Time and patience are in the prosecutor’s favor because it allows her to gather more evidence. Do not attack her for being careful and cautious. That’s her job, whether any of us like it or not. God Bless this lovely family, our veterans Brendan and Lucy, the prosecutors, and yes, even the Karens. May his will be done. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

On Memorial Day, we pay tribute to the brave men and women in uniform who gave their lives for this country that we love. It is a debt we can never fully repay, but we must never stop trying. I’ll always be grateful to our fallen heroes and their families, whose sacrifice reminds us of what it means to live for something greater than ourselves.

This isn't a post about Lucy. It's about my talented wife, Dolly. We've been married 12 years now and I still have no idea how a human voice can render such beauty. It has to be a reflection of the divine. facebook.com/share/v/1GoRkK… #SaveLucy 🙏

🚨 SHENANDOAH COUNTY, VA: Commonwealth’s Attorney Elizabeth “Liz” Cooper is actively pushing for the destruction of Lucy - a heroic war-zone rescue dog belonging to a U.S. Army veteran. This woman is clearly an advocate for animal cruelty. Instead of using her discretion to drop the case and return Lucy to her loving family, she’s persecuting a veteran and his dog. I will personally do everything in my power to make sure Liz Cooper is NEVER elected again in 2027. Everyone who cares about justice and animals - CALL her office and email her NOW: 📞 (540) 459-6129 ✉️ ecooper@shenandoahcountyva.gov Demand she drops the charges and releases Lucy immediately!
