ICYMI: Burnout is often framed as a discipline issue or emotional weakness. For entrepreneurs over 40, it's more often a recovery deficit. entrepreneur.com/leadership/bur…

Trump says that the US doesn't need US allies to send warships to reopen the Strait of Hormuz -- it's just a test of their willingness to back up the US.
Rapid Response 47@RapidResponse47

Reporter: Have you been speaking with President Macron about the coalition to reopen the Strait of Hormuz? @POTUS: "Yeah, I have spoken to him. He's been, on a scale of 0-10, I'd say he's been an 8. Not perfect — but it's France."

@mhdksafa @SueSuezep The United Nations has become very weak due to Israeli transgressions, the American veto, and bribery. This is why we now see Trump encroaching on its jurisdiction; perhaps it should be moved from America for restructuring.

Here's the math, SAFE is €150 billion in loans for EU countries to rearm, part of their "ReArm Europe" push to rely less on the US. Canada paying €10 million to join means our defense contractors can now bid on those contracts alongside European firms. That's real access. The catch is the 35% rule, no more than 35% of a project's components can come from outside the EU to qualify for funding. So Canadian companies either partner with Europeans or buy their way in further. Given the UK walked away from similar talks over fees, does €10 million actually buy meaningful access or just a seat in the waiting room?

#Canada will be the first non-European nation to join the EU's "SAFE" or Security Action For Europe program. The partnership is expected to expand markets in the #EU for Canadian suppliers and strengthen diplomatic ties in often divisive times.
Mark Carney@MarkJCarney

Canada is now the first non-European country to be granted a membership in SAFE. This is a gamechanger program that means Canada can rearm our Canadian Armed Forces members more effectively and scale up our defence industries with more contracts overseas.

Conducting #GlobalBusiness in a vacuum? Plus #tariffs revenue hits? Torpedoing international revenue streams and growth pathways seems a bit counterproductive for those all about the money... ?
Evan A. Feigenbaum@EvanFeigenbaum

The @WashPost has now laid off its Asia editor, its New Delhi bureau chief, its Sydney bureau chief, its Cairo bureau chief, the entire Middle East reporting team, China correspondents, Iran correspondents, Turkey correspondents, and many more. The world is becoming less America-centric by the minute while the United States is becoming more America-centric than ever. It is just a depressing yet somehow perfect summation of our current moment that one of the most important newspapers in the history of the country - one that has actually shaped the history of the United States - doesn't think reporting on the world is of any use anymore. What an utterly perfect encapsulation of where we have arrived.
