Worked on this animation in @rive_app a while ago. You can interact with each component by dragging them around the breadboard and they snap to the grid because the legs are supposed to connect to the holes. It was very challenging to manage the rendering at runtime because the visuals are weighty with lots of feathering but I found better ways to structure things and still keep vector level quality. Stack: Assets & components were illustrated in figma Animation & Databinding for JS. runtime done in Rive

Motion isn't extra, it's how users know you actually gave a shit about the product you put in front of them. If you've already built a product before, you know what happens when these details are missing. Users don't file bug reports and say "it feels off." They just leave! And here's the thing - you can feel it too! When you use a product and everything just works. Not perfectly. But thoughtfully. E.g. -> The difference between a modal that just pops in versus one that emerges from the button you clicked so you know how to get back -> Whether scrolling between sections has enough continuity that you can build a spatial map of where things live -> How multi-step flows shows progress in a way that makes you feel like you're moving forward, not just clicking the next button into a void. Those are not accidents. Someone on the team decided that how something feels matters as much as whether it functions. Shipping fast matters, but shipping fast with intention matters more. Because you're not just competing on features anymore. You're competing on whether people trust your product enough to use it, to pay, to stay. People buy based on emotions. And confidence + trust gets built in the smallest moments you design for, the ones most founders skip because they're "just" polish, the ones you know better than to skip.
