An HR professional has apparently deemed it a protected charateristic under the Equality Act 2010 for adults to indentify as children, and that it is gross misconduct to criticise it on a private social media account outside of work. I am lost for words.

Makerfield… Everyone realises that if Burnham wins, he will probably become leader of Labour and prime minister… but if he loses… …Wes Streeting will probably become leader of Labour and prime minister. My point is that Reform’s narrative that Restore should stand down to give them a clear run on the right to stop Burnham is another example of Reform manipulating its supporters. If you stop Burnham, you get Streeting.

Further on Keir Starmer and departure timetable: * Team Burnham want him to wait until AFTER the by-election. They worry it would undermine their “Vote Andy to get rid of Starmer” message * Starmer remains furious at perceived cabinet betrayal. Believes Ministers who have been publicly supportive have secretly been sending their SPADs to lobby MPs to call for him to stand down * Is especially angry at Shabana Mahmood and her close friend Josh Simons

@LauraTrottMP Please stop with the petty politics. It does you no favours. Do you need reminding that local councillors are there to concentrate on local issues? They are not proxies for the UN and neither are they there to support the representation of any passing political protest.

🚨BREAKING: It's been revealed Keir Starmer and Sadiq Khan met with senior Met police officials this morning ahead of Tommy Robinson's rally tomorrow The police are meant to be impartial. They're going to try and pull something off to save his premiership.

There’s one upside of this national humiliation unfolding in Westminster. It will be impossible now for Labour spokespeople to keep going on about the years of “Tory chaos”.

@DPJHodges How can they even believe that people will fall for the drivel they put out. They need some older heads as advisors - we are constantly treated to the outpourings of excited schoolchildren who have no life experience or understanding of human nature.

The line No.10 are pushing that Wes Streeting has somehow disrespected the King is a bit rich given the King’s Speech was basically a regurgitation of Downing Street’s line to take on the leadership over the past seven days.

@MInthenow70635 He is a classic narcissist. His ego is fragile. He cannot take criticism, has no empathy, cannot admit any fault - it's always somebody else. When he goes, I suspect his wife may be blamed for demanding he steps down 🙄 He creates his own narrative and that becomes his truth.

I am convinced that Keir Starmer is a psychopath. Ever since his first few speeches as Prime Minister I could sense there was something very off with him; his automaton manner and his blank expression - he seemed dead behind the eyes. It was quite clear to me back then that this man does not feel humanity, empathy or compassion in the same way normal people do, or even at all, and his later desperate attempts to display emotion and feeling in his speeches were so obviously coached and forced. He is cold and calculating and determined to stay in power at all costs. He lies and gaslights pathologically and his level of delusion about the state of the country is very alarming. Starmer doesn't seem to care in the slightest about how unpopular he is and so obviously has a complete and utter disdain for the people he is meant to serve. We also shouldn't forget his mission to prosecute innocent army veterans. This man quite clearly has an evil streak in him. I rest my case.

@lewis_goodall Then each one needs to search their conscience and stop playing party politics. Either you believe he should stay as leader or not. They're putting the PM's reputation first, then Party, then Country. Decency is last on the list. It's not good enough.

Bear in mind there are many Lab MPs who have not made their position public but who have told the whips. One of them tells me “I let my whip know yesterday I believed the PM should resign…there are lots of us in this position, who want him to understand the mood of the PLP and go with dignity - who want to maximise ability of Labour Party to come together after this, ideally stopping the public war of numbers and resignations. The PM’s reputation/legacy is being damaged by refusal to accept political realities - or to even meet the backbench committee or union leaders.”

@Steven_Swinford Why are you using the term "Soft Left" to describe a group of Marxists? The only thing soft about them is their heads, definitely not their politics. I assume that's what they chose to call themselves in order to mislead voters. They seem to have easily duped the press.

EXCLUSIVE: Ed Miliband has told Cabinet ministers that he is prepared to run for the Labour leadership if Wes Streeting triggers an imminent contest, The Times has been told The former Labour leader is understood to back Andy Burnham as Keir Starmer's successor if he is forced out of Number 10 in the wake of a mass revolt by Labour MP Miliband has previously told friends that he does not want the Labour leadership and is viewed as a potential "Kingmaker" for a Burnham premiership However the speed of the revolt by Labour MPs - more than 90 backbenchers, government aides and ministers have now gone public - has changed that assessment Two senior government sources said Miliband told cabinet colleagues he would be prepared to stand as the soft-left's candidate to stop Streeting from getting into Number 10 The claim was categorically denied by Miliband. A source close to the energy secretary said: "This is mischief making- it is categorically untrue that Ed told Cabinet colleagues that he was preparing to stand in case of a contest." thetimes.com/article/8bac9d…

You have to sort of admire Keir Starmer for telling the whole cabinet to basically go fuck themselves and then pissing off for the afternoon to an Owl Sanctuary. The only way he tops this is to post trolling selfies with the Owls all afternoon

The way Starmer uses his family to claim credibility and boast of 'making good' from supposed adversity is pathetic You'd think was a shoeless orphan in grinding poverty He grew up in a nice house, in a leafy suburb, in a well-off middle-class family, his dad owned a business

“What else was Hamas supposed to do on October 7?” I don’t know, Owen. Maybe not pick apocalyptic martyrdom over the Saudi-led peace track? They had two options: 1.Normalise with Israel along with the Saudi-led peace initiative. 2.Burn Gaza to the ground for the Ayatollahs’ messianic delusions. They chose door #2 - even after launching 1,550 rockets into Israel in 2023 before October 7. This wasn’t resistance. It was a fanatical death spiral dressed up as liberation

I need you to know it is absolutely CLASSIC barrister - just iconic barrister behaviour - to think one last speech can save you when the evidence has gone catastrophically badly, the other barristers have started to cut your throat & the judge is glancing at the clock
