The problem with all of this is "chess" has cost the organization three completely uncompetitive years + maybe more, a good deal of fan base & absolutely no guarantee other than the 5th pick or higher.

Russell is getting crushed for this take, but there’s at least one viable option (Keith Abney) who was ranked higher on the consensus big board when they were on the clock in Round 5. These teams aren’t infallible, it’s fair to wonder why another depth edge was prioritized.

The #Commanders did not draft a cornerback, a fairly significant need in any reasonable view. Should not be surprising. Told u all week this could happen at either WR or CB. Happened last year with EDGE. They didn't draft anyone in a deep class/major need and paid for it.

Had a night to sleep on the Williams pick and I think I’m more confused now by it. To be clear, he is very good. I just don’t see the fit over Hurst or Bell. Even if you bring in Aiyuk, both he and McLaurin are gone in a max of 2 years. No guarantee Aiyuk still has the juice.

@TwoPhonesJones3 @ronitr123 It’s the process that bothers me. Why a trade a 6’9 wing who was showing high upside in that ‘23-24 season (while on a great contract) for a late-lottery guard in a bad draft? Wings are clearly more valuable and you easily could’ve traded him for more at a later time.

Tyson is nearly off my draft board completely. And I don’t see a scenario where AP feels even REMOTELY comfortable selecting him at #7. If the staff desires a WR in RD1, and Tate is gone, I hope to hell we trade back
