Since 2000 there has been 48 European guards drafted to the NBA. Thirteen of those never saw the court, while others became Hall of Famers. Nowadays the future seems as bright as never before (Traoré, Saraf, etc). How the landscape & demands have changed is highlighted below 🧵

@TobiBuehner PM in general is a somewhat flawed statistic. Especially for players playing on good teams. I remember Chalmers having the 5th highest +/- in the league 2012/2013…

Imagine it's 2024 and people still think EPM is great way to measure someones impact 😂 and it even gets better: those people even think they are smart for doing so 😂😂

Safe to say Jayden Quaintance would be in 2025's top-5 mix if eligible. Doesn't turn 18 until July. Overwhelming power + mobility. Hands make the ball and rim look small. Defensive upside is huge, 3.4 BLKs, 1.5 STLs in 29 min. Showing he can put the ball down, pass offensively.

@NBADraftWass Gotta love the fact, that he’s not forcing his shot and doesn’t need high volume to be productive. Usually, this is one of the bigger concerns/tendencies with prolific scorers coming out of high school.

LSU freshman Vyctorius Miller coming off consecutive solid scoring games. Talented 6-5 guard out of AZ Compass. Smooth shotmaker, can create his own pretty comfortably. Efficient in midrange so far.

Finished last nights game vs. Youngstown State with 38 points on 60.9% FG, 7 Rebounds and 3 Assists. Lots of eyes will be on the development of his three-ball as we progress throughout the season! #Cuse

Tremendous showing from Syracuse Junior J.J. Starling, who’s still only 20 y/o. Prolific scorer and great athlete, especially off the bounce. Starling has a great first step and excels when attacking the rim. Has to get more consistent from behind the arc (low 30‘s% currently).

Is there anyone better at „relocating“ after a pass than Jared McCain, in the entire league?

Notre Dame’s Sophomore guard Braeden Shrewsberry has been putting together some big-time performances for the Irish ☘️. Very composed, natural scorer with great efficiency from all levels. Doesn’t force his shot & possesses great touch inside the arc. Great patience in his game.

@CBB_Europe How often do you see a 6‘10 big-man dribble up the court and hit a running 3 game-winner? Brzovic is shooting 60% from behind the arc through three games.

Showed glimpses of what he can do in last nights overtime loss vs. Charleston. Multiple sequences of him breaking down defenders off the dribble in ISO’s or PnR‘s. Very impressive for someone of his size at 6‘11. Played all 45 minutes and finished with 15P, 12R and 6A on 46.2%FG.

#FAU’s Spanish big man Baba Miller is due for a big season as he enters his junior year. Athleticism & physical attributes have always been off the charts. On-ball development has been terrific as can be seen vs. UCF. Now it’s a matter of consistency, especially shooting-wise.

@thecenterhub_bb Yang‘s skill-set is truly remarkable at his size. Footwork is off the charts too. What stands out most to me is how natural every move of his seems. Feels like he plays through instincts, which can go a long way at his position.

Hansen Yang is undoubtedly a polarizing prospect, but there’s no denying the impressive skill and feel he has demonstrated for a player of his size. Standing at 7’1” and just 18 years old, he is already competing at a high level in the CBA, showcasing maturity and versatility beyond his years. Currently, Yang is averaging an impressive 16.3 points, 10.8 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 2.7 blocks per game, highlighting his ability to contribute across multiple areas of the game. While he may not project as an elite NBA athlete due to his physical profile and mobility, Yang’s advanced skill set and basketball IQ make him a highly intriguing prospect. His passing ability, particularly for a player his size, is a standout feature, as he demonstrates excellent vision and decision-making in both transition and half-court settings. Defensively, his shot-blocking instincts and ability to protect the rim are valuable tools, although refining his lateral quickness will be key for success at the next level. What makes Yang so appealing is the breadth of tools he brings to the table. His combination of size, skill, and feel suggests a high ceiling if he continues to develop. Whether or not his athletic limitations hold him back in the NBA remains to be seen, but his potential as a versatile big man is undeniable. For teams willing to bet on upside and polish his weaknesses, Yang could become a difference-maker in the right system.

@bjpf_ His timing, both on rebounds and blocks seems to have gotten considerably better. Always felt like he relied a little too much on his sheer size in college and HS.

the wolves couldn’t handle donovan clingan’s size on either end in this one, he’s such a deterrent at the rim already and the finishing + decision making are sound 5 blks in the 4th quarter of this game alone! easy to argue him as the best per min rookie so far.

Check out one of Jerome Tang‘s stagger-curl designs vs. LSU last night. Great execution by both wings. Could’ve created even more space with C.J Jones making the pass from the 45° angle, in other words luring his defender to the wing and leaving the top of the key more open.

Strong start to the season from Northeastern freshman Ryan Williams. The 6‘4 two-guard lit up Harvard last night going 5-7 from 3 and 8-12 from the field off the bench (!) Has great feel & patience for the game, especially as a freshman. More often than not makes the right play!

While Kekenbosch already offers an intriguing mixture of physical attributes and perimeter shooting, he still has room to grow as a playmaker. Would love to see him transition into a legit CG. Has great positional size and athleticism already + intriguing defensive ability.
NextUpProspects@NextUpProspects

Get familiar with Terence Kekenbosch, the Belgian standout, who plays for Joventut Badalonas U18🇧🇪. Standing at 6'5 Terence has great positional size and athleticism (39'' max vert), especially horizontally. Kekenbosch has a fluid stroke and excels in fast-paced open court play.
