🚨New: Onchain investigator @zachxbt has reported that a threat actor known as “John (Lick)” may have accessed and controlled more than $90M in crypto linked to suspected thefts, including funds tied to 🇺🇸US government seizure wallets, through his father’s company, CMDSS, which held a contract with the US Marshals Service to manage seized digital assets. The investigation says John was first linked to the wallets after recordings surfaced showing him bragging about his holdings and publicly proving control of multiple addresses during an online “band for band” exchange, with funds moving in real time. These recordings enabled onchain tracing that connected the wallets to tens of millions of dollars from government-linked addresses and suspected victims between 2024 and 2025. Following the report, John reportedly deleted NFT usernames, changed his screen name, and altered his Telegram presence. Shortly after, CMDSS’s X account, website, and LinkedIn page were also deactivated.
