@Scouching @IceDogsReport Who’s come to the CHL from the USHL that has dominated? Off the top of my head don’t think any USHL guys dominated the WHL this year.
English

@IceDogsReport Why have so many USHL guys go to the CHL and dominated? Why are there so many USHL/NCAA alum in the NHL? How about all the NCAA NHLers before the CHL was allowed in? I just don't think that leagues where the vast majority of playoff matchups are blowouts is a healthy environment.

There are a similar number of registered hockey players in Canada and the US.
There are 16 teams in the top US junior hockey division, there are 61 in Canada's.
10/12 final 8 series in the CHL lasted 5 games or fewer.
There were no sweeps in the USHL QF and two went 5 games.

@NYRLouie The USHL is not more competitive than the Ohl and Lawrence’s flaws were evident at every level, Hlinka, USHL, NCAA and U 18s…if anything, his NCAA performance late in the year bumped him back up a bit

@BCHL_Alberta Fortunate to come into the WHL at a time when the available prospect pool for the league is at its largest. All the credit to them, they did it a different way by going with an older group that they only get for a year. Curious to see if other teams try and copy this approach.

If a WHL sycophant tells you that Fred Harbinson and the Penticton Vees were gift wrapped a spot in the western final, make sure to send them the clip below.

This year’s Penticton Vees are such a good story. How can you not love Fred Harbinson? I’d run through walls for that guy.

@PGCougars What a treat to watch him develop the last 2 years and a bit. Despite some heartbreak, he’s had an unbelievable year going back to last years U18s. Was great to see the joy he displays after a cougars goal and the celebrations after a win. PG is lucky to have him.

@BCHL_Alberta High end skill will probably be younger and we have already seen a dropoff in the 20s. Vees success with majority 19 year olds, teams may follow that and build a bottom 6 with older less talented players and let their 16 year olds develop rather than play 5-8mins a night.
English

@BCHL_Alberta Also in the new landscape I don’t think GMs are planning on building around a strong birth year group of players and playing them a bunch in their 16 year old year to get that payoff when they are 18 and 19 as was done in the past.
English

The Saskatoon Blades GM has said on multiple occasions that he expects fewer 16 year olds to play in the league, and I never understood the logic of that given the league is going to get younger, but it’s because they no longer have to make that commitment to players in order to get them to sign.

@JonKeenNLSports Thanks for posting. Seems like inconsistent discipline from @TheWHL. Ruedig gets 1 game for probably a worse hit (didn’t find slow motion footage of it) and Foster gets the same amount as Sarkenov who was a repeat offender. Think this is fosters first suspension.
English

Just coming around to go full circle on this from the other night. The WHL has now updated it's discipline page on the WHL website. No further discipline for the 2nd major penalty late in the game.

Jon Keen@JonKeenNLSports
I need a cigarette after watching that 3rd period in PG tonight. Fans on the referees, penalties for debris on the ice. You have to wonder now about suspensions on the two PG major penalties for game five. Series tied 2-2. Road team has won the first four games.
English

@colewaldiepxp Not surprised, but that’s not a lot of consistency coming from WHL discipline. Same amount of games as Sarkenov (repeat offender, don’t believe Foster is) and 1 more than Ruedig (worse open ice hit with clear video, video on victory can’t tell what part of foster hit stone)
English

@JonKeenNLSports @tannpara Why doesn’t the @TheWHL have an automatic review of all 5 min majors during the game like the NHL? Also, when would you expect a decision to come out on the possible suspensions?
English

All square. Best-of-three from here. 👀🔥

@JonKeenNLSports WHL is a joke if Vaughn gets suspended for hitting a guy in the chest.

The atmosphere in PG came across @victoryplustv and was awesome. Well Done!

@JonKeenNLSports That was a lot of iron that Kamloops hit tonight. Ravensbergen was great, but he’s definitely got to be thanking his posts and crossbars

@BizNasty2point0 Pretty gross when you can throw the McDonalds line out there
English

@colewaldiepxp Any reports from the cougars brass on what to expect from the other new acquisitions ?
English

@colewaldiepxp can you let the @WHLwild_ broadcast team know that all the different camera angles are useless if they can’t follow the puck. Making the @victoryplustv broadcast very difficult to watch.
English

@INDOCHINO some of the worst customer service for a company that is supposed to have a custom product fit for you. Almost impossible to talk to someone via phone call. Been told twice to expect a phone call from the regional manager and have yet to receive one 3 days later.
