@PriyamvadaGopal Editor Gove described Mothin's hat as a 'Palestinian Beanie' in his editorial, literally inventing a fashion item to disguise the racism. The blood soaked axe wielded by Zack is surely an example of antisemitic blood libel (snd there's sexism elsewhere in the pic).

@mikekatz Your defence of Israel implicitly divides Jews into Good Jews and Bad Jews. I'm no expert on antisemitism, but I know that's a defining feature.

As I said here, Zack Polanski should be utterly ashamed. He has allowed toxic antisemitism to tear through his party unchallenged, and this is the latest dangerous example of that. Greens to vote on challenging NHS anti-Semitism crackdown telegraph.co.uk/politics/2026/…

@samuelmoyn Before end of history bs he was big (I was a doc student 80s/90s). He's unsystematic and essentially unintelligible which isn't pragmatism, rather - like the work of dreams - it's a confabulation over the cracks in a project that is nonsense: western white imperialism

He was a hero. His global philosophical legacy was to accede to the end of history, in various ways, w/ consequences that critical theory hasn't recovered from, and which affected and reflected liberal political and constitutional thought to its detriment. apnews.com/article/juerge…

@RestIsPolitics 'Tony Blair rebukes Starmer ' according to the BBC at a private lunch for Jewish News. Is that helpful? Is Blair too solipsistic to reflect on his own life/decisions/history?

@AnzacAegis @SamBuntz It's made throughout the essay collection Fanged Noumena (eg Making it with Death, Meltdown). He hasn't done any actual work in almost thirty years, but it's all there, from back in the day.

@SamBuntz I have heard this claim from many but never heard him say anything like it. Is there an article or something where he lays this out?

On one side we have the genocide experts and all the major human rights organisations. On the other side we have the weirdo who wrote an article about how the IDF should be nominated for the Nobel. One of those instances where it's simply impossible to work out who is right.
Michael Gove@michaelgove

It’s *not* a genocide. Rwanda was a genocide. The Shoah was a genocide. Equating Israel with the Interahamwe or SS is just wicked

@michaelgove Twenty-seven respected international expert bodies call it a genocide. The only possible reason you have for denying it's a genocide is to enable it. I am not sure you are better than that.

You can only make the accusation of genocide if you deprive the word of its meaning. We all know why you’re doing this - appealing to prejudice to win an election. You are better than that
Zack Polanski@ZackPolanski

Amnesty International, Medecins Sans Frontieres, Save the Children, the UN, International Association of Genocide Scholars, B’Tselem, Physicians for Human Rights-Israel, Palestinian Human Rights Organizations Council, Islamic Relief - all say, it's a genocide.

@dieworkwear The picture of the bandstand is Arnold Circus in Shoreditch, London, my home. It's an area where there is absolutely no call for rugged out-doorsiness (although we all dress as though there is).

i hear this all the time and it doesn't make sense to me at all. if your style leans towards rugged americana, outdoorsy workwear, then a backpack not only looks fine, but it stylistically might be the best option. what are you going to use? a briefcase?

While I’m pleased a bunch of political journalists now feel free to share their personal experiences of Mandleson’s abuse of power (so far incl. demands to fire them, not to hire them, rudeness) — it raises a helluva lot of questions, 1. Why are we only hearing about it now? 2. Why didn’t editors commison stories about it before the #EpsteinFiles broke? 3. How many media owners or editors have complied with such demands to fire journalists? 4. If they weren’t fired, how many journalists careers went into aspic inside news orgs as a result of Mandelson’s ire?! 5. Crucially, how many *other* politicians (and, while I’m here, lobby groups) demand journalists are fired and get their way? I’ll stop there but you catch my drift…
