In Istanbul for #ICANN81, and it just happened to align with Atatürk Memorial Day. Woke up to the sound of sirens and horns blaring for two minutes straight to commemorate the man.

Members of the Deep State must be so embarrassed that after stuffing ballots, hacking into voting machines, and getting dead people to vote in 2020, they completely forgot to do it again this year.

The original NY Times headline reads: “Violence Tied to Soccer Game….” There is no mention of the unprecedented nature of the event—a pogrom in the 21st century. No mention of its motive: antisemitism. No mention of its victims: Jews and Israelis. No mention of the response it necessitated: an emergency rescue operation by the Israeli government. The hollowness of the headline tells its own story about a deeper desensitization of the modern world to Jew hatred even when the hate metastasizes into violence.

Reminder that Trump would just be an angry retiree shouting at the TV right now had Mitch McConnell decided to do the right thing after 1/6. Amazing.

Our country can endure another Trump term. He might even do *some* good things. And the bad stuff, we can probably recover from eventually. But I foresee some very scary, irreversible shit going down abroad on account of his and Vance's foreign policy. IRREVERSIBLE.

Automatically disbelieving authorities isn't independent-mindedness. It's just conformism with the sign bit flipped.

Fairness requires that we admit Trump didn't say Cheney should face a firing squad. He was fantasizing about her being shot in the face by nine guns in a war situation. Very normal.

I encourage everyone to watch this. Dawkins versus Peterson is truly a microcosm of the decline of the public intellectual. Dawkins, whatever you think of him, defines his terms and argues in a logical straightforward matter. Peterson is just spouting mystical gibberish. Here he argues about the biological reality of dragons, or maybe dragons as a metaphor, but maybe not. You can’t follow along because there’s nothing there. Poor Dawkins is sitting there trying to have a real conversation, where you actually communicate ideas instead of putting on a show for the rabble. Seriously. Watch this, and think about what’s going on here.
