🚨SPEAKER AMONG DRAGGED TO IGG OVER FAILURE TO DECLARE WEALTH Speaker Anita Annet Among has been reported to the Inspectorate of Government by six Ugandan citizens and lawyers; Andrew Karamagi, Mercy Munduru, Kato Tumusiime, Gift Grace Achilla, Praise Aloikin, and Godwin Toko. In a complaint dated and filed today, May 13, 2026, they accuse her of either failing to declare her wealth or under-declaring it, in breach of the Leadership Code Act. The petitioners point to her luxurious Rolls Royce Cullinan, reportedly worth billions of shillings, and her massive mansion in Bukedea as red flags that raise questions about her assets. The IGG has received the petition, but as of now, neither Speaker Among nor the Inspectorate has responded publicly. With the IGG now in possession of this petition, will Speaker Among finally declare her full assets publicly, or will we see another round of selective silence????

If Hon. @norbertmao has managed to achieve all this in just 4 years, then President @KagutaMuseveni and Gen. @mkainerugaba should trust him with the leadership of Parliament of Uganda. Mao has shown maturity, discipline and courage in leadership. Uganda now needs a Speaker who will fight corruption, restore dignity in Parliament and ensure taxpayers’ money is used responsibly. With Mao at the helm, the budget of Parliament can be reduced and public trust rebuilt. I call upon all Members of Parliament and the entire Ugandan public to support Hon. Mao because he is corruption-free, experienced and focused on serving the nation, not personal interests. Uganda deserves clean and accountable leadership in Parliament.

Leadership is not measured by the size of crowds at press conferences but by integrity, ideas and service to the country. Many leaders started small but later earned national trust through consistency and honesty. The debate should be about who can fight corruption, restore accountability and lead Parliament better not who can mobilize louder cheers. Time will tell.
