A lovely afternoon yesterday playing The Berkshire Blue for @golfmonthly and seeing the excellent new bunkering and other substantial and in-keeping changes - not to mention the stylish clubhouse refurb - all VERY impressive !

@TheGolfDivoTee This photo was taken long before I started playing RSG in the 70’s as a boy, but I do remember the 3 cross bunkers that you had to drive over. The 14th was also a blind tee shot before the dune was opened up to allow partial sighting of the fairway.

The carry over the bunkers from the tee on the 7th at Royal St George's many moons when any thought of golf ball rollback was meaningless -

@RoyalStGeorges Well that was one of the hardest days ever on a golf course. Relentless strong winds, treacherous rough and the wind reversing the natural line of some putts. Well done to Jack Shipton. As for me, beaten by my son. Well done Edward!

@MikeHarrisGolf @TaylorMadeGolf I have Stealth original. When new they look awesome, but they have marked up really badly on the face. I see the same with spider putters. Titleist seem IMHO far more resilient to cosmetic damage.

I wish all courses displayed the tee times like @RoyalStGeorges1. I think it adds a touch of class. It’s a beautiful and challenging course. The winds were whipping today, which certainly added to the challenge. #golf

Glad you had a great day. As for the Blue, I’m always asked by visitors which course I prefer, and I always reply I have no preference between the two.

Superb day @TheBerkshireGC playing the Blue Course. The Red always used to be my clear favourite but now very close between the two thanks to major course improvements on the Blue. A truly brilliant 36 hole combo. Great to catch up with the @YUMAXGolf boys. Golf was the winner!
