@jbouie Thiel: Gandalf is a mystic and Sauron had some good ideas. Gandalf: The rule of no realm is mine. But all worthy things that are in peril are my care. And I shall not fail my task if anything passes through this night that can still grow fair or flower again in days to come.

a man whose early political career was bankrolled by Wall St, Republican charter school backers in Arkansas & pro-Israel money. it’s clear he has no idea who he is or why he’s even in politics, a cliche machine whose only discernible skill is talking for hours and saying nothing

Classic centrist thing is to spend two weeks shrieking about something and then the instant it’s clear you’re losing the issue, say “why the FUCK are we talking about this thing?”

im not the one who claimed to be a kingmaker. i said the opposite!! yall have spent the last 2 weeks of trumps violent & expensive iran war complaining about me! i’m just a megaphone for voters who want change. they want antiwar/anti ice dems who’ll cut off israel & fight for m4a
Neera Tanden🌻@neeratanden

I missed how every Dem leader went on Hasan Piker's show to make this happen. Just like there are very few Dems on Joe Rogan and Trump is still dropping with young people. The truth is no podcaster controls whole blocks of voters. This debate has become divorced from reality.

Neocons then: Kamala Harris went full neocon, we’ve successfully taken over the Democratic Party!! Neocons now: Kamala Harris lost because she was a woke radical leftist and we can’t listen to the woke radical left ever again!!
Egotistical Elephant@GenericName37

@DropSiteNews Sarah Longwell and the Bulwark Neocons were celebrating infiltrating and taking over the Democratic party a week before the 2024 election. Pursuing their approval is what caused Kamala Harris to lose.

@natashakorecki lol. What a waste of ink. How have you not realized that it’s a brand new political landscape? Nobody wants this. More $$ for Isr@el and for Ice are radical positions. And you can’t astroturf this bs any more. At least 75% of Dems support abolishing ICE and ceasing $$ to Isr@el.

NEW: Sen. Ruben Gallego mulls a presidential race. He tells me after winning AZ in 2024: "We have to look at it." Supports U.S. $$ to Israel for defense: "I’ve seen civilians get hurt in war by both sides.” Opposes push to abolish ICE: "ridiculous." nbcnews.com/politics/2028-…

Hi, welcome to the new Democratic Party. We're not voting for @GavinNewsom, ever. Please understand when I say we are now holding you Centrists hostage. If you nominate this soulless silverspoon failson, you will lose the election becuase we will not vote for him. You can nominate someone the people want, or you can lose. We know you'll choose the latter so we will prepare accordingly, we suggest you do the same.

The American voting public are going to stand on rooftops screaming at the top of their lungs for the next 3 fucking years that they won't vote for a Zionist, Dems will anoint a Zionist anyway, ppl won't vote for that candidate, and the Dems will blame the people for their loss.

It’s shocking how openly and repeatedly the Western media tells you that they simply don’t consider brown people to be human. Among the first casualties of this war were 160 Iranian schoolchildren, but it takes a lost US pilot to bring a human dimension to the slaughter?
Hamza Yusuf@Hamza_a96

“It brings a human dimension to the war…” says Sky News’ military analyst about a missing American pilot from an F-15 jet. Has Sky News ever raised that same human dimension about the US and Israel’s carpet bombing of Gaza, Lebanon and Iran?

Biggest terrorists in the world. They’re using the Iran War as cover for their invasion of Lebanon. Our troops are used as distraction. American media has zero criticism of the new ethnic cleansing they’re doing in southern Lebanon. It’s insane that we’re funding the terrorists.
sarah@sahouraxo

BREAKING. Israel is blowing up entire civilian homes in Naqoura, South Lebanon right now. Civilian homes. No military target. No justification. Just pure terror and destruction. This is a war crime in broad daylight. And the world watches in silence.

Watching all these Centrist Dems arguing about how much they'll open the tent is so funny. It's like watching sailors on a sinking ship arguing over whether they're going to get on the rescue vessel. We're not asking for your permission, lol. Sink or Swim @BulwarkOnline

Hasan Piker does make Democrats' lives more difficult. Not because of perceived antisemitism though, but because he forces them to take stances that, while popular with average people, would jeopardize their Israeli and corporate money.
The Bulwark@BulwarkOnline

"I could think of 1000 other things I would rather Democrats pick fights about now. Like, why him right now?" "Because he's making their life harder." @Timodc and @SarahLongwell25 spar over one of the biggest questions facing Democrats right now: what to do about Hasan Piker?

Two ex republicans debating whether Dems should embrace Hasan. There’s a large contingent of ex republicans on cable news who are seen as the representing Democrats. Why are Dems ok with these people representing them but are hesitant to include the left?
Sarah Longwell@SarahLongwell25

This is The Bulwark. We don’t all think one thing! I think Tim is wrong on Hasan Piker, so we hashed it out. Listen to us work through it in a format much more conducive to a productive discussion than Twitter dunks.

Centrists say centrism wins hard seats. Clinton lost. Kamala lost. Meanwhile Platner and Talarico are polling to flip Republican Senate seats as unapologetic progressives. Offer voters Republican-lite and they'll choose the real thing every time.
Neera Tanden🌻@neeratanden

Rep David Valadao has won multiple hard races, in a very moderate district. The purpose of these primaries is not to win ideological battles within the Democratic party - it is to beat the Republican and take back the House. Please act accordingly.

Some of the reactions to this are odd to me. I know it’s an unpopular opinion on here but this is a very young person just starting out and entering the world where there’s no hope of stability or even a half decent standard of living and all the pathways to that have been foreclosed due to an undemocratic government that has eroded everyone’s quality of life consistently for 50+ years, while wreaking havoc globally. This undemocratic government is starting wars nobody wants and making her life even harder all for the sake of drenching the world in blood so a few people at the top can profit. The way to help people like her understand why things are the way they are isn’t to blame her for the actions of a government over which she has no control, it’s to empathize and then show her that she needs to organize against it to change things. When I was her age I was so poor and immiserated and always on the brink of homelessness that I had no time to even think about politics, I was just trying to survive. Poverty is hell and made me contemplate suicide many times. I wish people realized that young people like this are ripe for radicalization because they feel the effects of a government that does not care about them, but you can’t intervene by laughing at their struggles, which are real even if they are nothing compared to the struggles of those whom this satanic government is bombing. It’s all connected and making those connections is how you bring people in to eventually change things. I think it’s very understandable for someone who has been the victim of our imperialism to not make distinctions but for us here we should realize that the people who “deserve it” are the ones who are totally unaffected by what this country does. The rest of us pay while those destroying the world profit.
