AI is making CEOs delusional

Michael Pollan says the origin of consciousness is with feelings, not thoughts. Not the cortex where reasoning happens, but the brainstem where a living body regulates itself against the world. Consciousness may arise from friction with reality. Today’s AI processes information. It does not regulate a vulnerable body with metabolic needs. If feeling is foundational, computation alone may never be enough.

@GaryMarcus Missed you. Glad you're back - you are sorely needed to bring some light to the AI mess.

Introducing Simile. Simulating human behavior is one of the most consequential and technically difficult problems of our time. We raised $100M from Index, Hanabi, A* BCV, @karpathy @drfeifei @adamdangelo @rauchg @scottbelsky among others.

The 30-second trick Andrew Huberman says drops stress faster than anything else—right in the moment. No meditation app, no vacation required. Double inhale through the nose: - Full breath in until lungs feel packed - Sneak in one more sip of air Then long, slow exhale through the mouth until lungs are empty. Physiological sigh = instant parasympathetic reset. Science-backed, zero equipment, works in seconds. Try it right now if you're feeling any tension—did it actually work for you?

Nature is my teacher I agree that AGI is not coming from the AI industry. It's because boomer AI, which is what deep learning is, has not solved continual learning in the real world. It's a fatal flaw but the AI community has no solution other than to lie to the world on a continual basis. I'll tell you who has already solved continual learning: nature. Natural intelligence does not learn from data, but from precisely timed discrete changes in the world. It learns on the fly, as things happen. This is why biological brains use spiking neurons and why the retina consists of lots of tiny edge movement detectors. It's not for grins and giggles. My motto is this: Ignore nature and she will kick your foolish ass. 😀 Read this great post by @protosphinx : ⬇️⬇️

Why do you even need to organize your desktop? Who is this for
