@jtmegerian @BlueJays I’m glad they posted symbols actually tied TO Judaism…that’s my point. They should do the same for Christian holidays and not Christmas ornaments or Easter eggs and bunnies. That’s my point.

And they do this so they don’t offend. They give no such concern to people of other faiths…they just use actual symbols connected to THEIR faiths.

@davepl1968 Dude...I was there...in my classroom with the TV rolled into the room watching it LIVE. They didn't roll the tv down the hall to show us a replay of a teacher being blown up on the way to space.

99.9% of people who "experienced" the Challenger disaster saw it on replay and now remember it as live. Almost NO ONE was watching. Everyone thinks they were. It's a fascinating collective false memory.

@GeriPerna By the way...if the church I serve had 6 adopted children we'd be asking about how much financial support we could give THEM...not the other way around. (Our church hosts a ministry on our campus called "Fostering Hope" to provide clothes for foster families.

@NickVipperman We had a family that adopted 6 children with special needs. They were very poor, and the kids were mostly in wheelchairs. He detested that family. He made them so uncomfortable that they left.

I once was a bookkeeper for a church. We got a new Pastor and he was very arrogant. I remember that I handled the confidential tithes and offerings of the parishioners, and he wanted to see them. I told him no. I told him that wasn't any of his business, and as a pastor he should know that. Then he started bringing in friends to speak on Sundays. Love offerings were collected, and on Monday morning, he would ask me how much had been collected. Let's say it was $1459.00. He would tell me to round that up. So, I would say, okay, $1500? He would say no, give them $2000. I fought him. Things got ugly. He started pounding his fist on the desk, telling me that the buck stopped with him. I yelled right back, and I told him that I treated that checkbook as if it were God's checkbook and I wasn't writing another check from it. I quit on the spot. Pastors and churches need to be held accountable. Their financials should be completely public.

@GeriPerna After 30 years of ministry, I've seen and heard of a lot. That kind of spiritual abuse comes from people whose tables Jesus would be flipping. I've been blessed to Pastor two very healthy churches with a plurality of Godly Elders in each...this structure is key for church health.

@GeriPerna Yeah, they are the ones who think that it is "guiding the flock" to know how much people give so they can "give them spiritual guidance" when they aren't tithing faithfully. That mindset has led to much abuse and failures in the church and for Pastors.

@GeriPerna Thanks for being a woman of character who was willing to stand on the Lord's side in a difficult situation. The Pastor who thinks it is "leadership" to regulate and dominate every aspect of the church is one who is sure to fail for some reason or another.
