@LauraJaneMayne I'm so sorry to hear about this. The carbon neutral thing is particularly baffling on any balance sheet and I don't think Hull is the only one weighed down by it. Yes net zero is a good place to go... but surely not at the cost of job losses in the shorter term???

@Johnsculpture @InedibleReading I have driven through this part of Reading numerous times at various different times of day and in all weathers recently and noticed absolutely no different in traffic. Kings Rd was always chokkah. People just love a moan
English

@InedibleReading I went through about then - the Suttons roundabout was totally flooded and the 3290 slip road pretty much impassible. Any bus lane shenanigans were very secondary.

@JayBrandstetter @pop_rambler Shame it’s globally accessible without fees. To often we as a nation develop and create, then give away for others to exploit. It could be another way of recovering investment in the BBC

The BBC sound effects library is now completely free to access.
This is news.

I like this poem because we named our Business School’s ‘executive suite’ after the Chancellor’s company. It went bust the week the building was officially opened and the poor man’s son committed suicide.

@theiaincameron It's the kind of thing you'd do for the Olympics. Maybe they were having an Olympics.

The ramifications of this are mind-boggling. There’s a very real possibility that a six tonne boulder was moved from Orkney to Stonehenge around 4,500 years ago for reasons that we can only guess. A pan-British culture based on astronomical, megalithic ritual? Truly stunning.
New Scientist@newscientist
A study of the 6-tonne altar stone at the heart of Stonehenge has shown that it was brought there all the way from northeastern Scotland, much further than any other stone in the megalithic structure #Echobox=1723649198" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">newscientist.com/article/244387…
