🚨😮💰 JUST IN — Bloomberg @business is reporting that the LIV Golf League has begun “laying the groundwork” to potentially file for bankruptcy in the U.S. at the conclusion of the 2026 season. “They are preparing for the league’s collapse when the season ends in late August as a possible outcome.”

@NickyMulligans @NUCLRGOLF @axios Agreed, unless they then control a lot of the media rights to their teams players. They don’t get ticket sales and no one is paying their crazy prices for merchandise.

🚨🏌️💸 #FUNDRAISER — @axios is reporting that LIV Golf is needing to raise up to $250M from new investors and hopes to be profitable within 20 months if funding is secured. It also could raise significantly less ($150 million) and bank on rising team values and a new media rights deal. LIV has until the start of October to raise funds before their PIF $ runs out.

@NickyMulligans @NUCLRGOLF @axios It’s not just a team it’s a brand. Similar to how F1 became massive. Not just about players or drivers it became about a team and fandom. You provide equity stake into a team like other team sports and valuation can sky rocket due to bidding between billionaires.

$250m doesn’t seem like it’s an impossible amount to obtain, but why would PIF pull the plug if the league was only one cash infusion away from being sustainable? That’s confusing to me

@PackIsBack007 @NUCLRGOLF @axios Ok, but in all fairness will LIV really get that Global tv deal that they would be hoping for? I mean if the massive TV deal is mainly based overseas wouldn’t LIV be a glorified DPWT? Also, can LIV even afford to have losses over the next 24-30 months?

@NickyMulligans @NUCLRGOLF @axios In teams sports valuations are based on future media cash flows and not current earnings. A global tv deal could be a massive catalyst to leap LIV forward. All team sports that were created typically have losses for first several years of being created. F1 prime example.
