Keir Starmer and David Lammy are about to do something no Tory government ever dared: rip jury trial out of the heart of British justice for offences carrying up to three years in jail – and they’re doing it in the name of “efficiency”.
A former DPP and a former human‑rights barrister now fronting a plan to scrap half of all jury trials is not reform, it’s vandalism.
When your own mentor is warning that you’re knocking out a load‑bearing wall of the justice system, you’re not clearing a backlog – you’re bringing the whole house down on the people inside it.

NHS nurse Jennifer Melle has won a settlement from Epsom and St Helier Hospitals NHS Trust.
She was formally disciplined and faced tribunal after referring to a transgender patient as “Mr” at St Helier Hospital in Carshalton in May 2024.
The patient then racially abused her.
The trust settled the case at the last minute, just days before the employment tribunal was due to start.
Another quiet backdown on pronoun policing in the NHS.
Well done Jennifer!!!!

🚨 EXPOSED: Labour Party Tax Scandal
So it turns out Labour’s own property company has paid ZERO corporation tax in 25 years.
In that time, it’s generated over £30 million in rental income.
How?
Apparently by claiming around £1.8 million a year in “property expenses”…
…on properties worth roughly £6 million.
That’s like saying it costs you £90,000 a year to run a £300,000 house.
Does that sound right to you?
So I look forward to the Sunday Times and Gabriel Pogrund investigating this with the same energy they attacked Richard Tice with yesterday.
Because with numbers like those, it certainly looks like something that needs explaining.
And if Dan Neidle is as “unbiased” as he claims, I’m sure he’ll be happy to help…
Despite him being a Labour Party member who’s even sat on their executive committee.
Looking forward to the investigation.

I am joining 4,802 other men and women in standing for Reform UK in the upcoming local elections on May 7th.
I joined Reform in 2023, having been politically homeless. Like many across the country, I came to feel that the established parties no longer represent the values of, or act in the interests of, the British people.
Crises such as spiralling debt, an unsustainable welfare bill, mass migration, failing institutions, and the breakdown of national cohesion and identity have not arisen by accident. They have been facilitated and aggravated by negligent governments from both halves of the uniparty.
Particularly on the right, successive governments have walked back pledges. They have betrayed their voters, failed to fight for small-c conservative values, and fallen short in reversing damage inflicted by governments on the left.
At the local level, these failures are felt every day. Citizens are increasingly concerned about community safety, anti-social behaviour, declining high streets, poorly maintained roads, and crime. Yet, due to wasteful spending, these problems continue to go unaddressed. This is despite council tax bills continuing to outpace inflation.
Britons are increasingly feeling as though they are losing their country. Many feel they have no way out. These concerns were further exacerbated when Keir Starmer attempted to cancel our elections and deny 4.5 million people their democratic right to vote their party out of local government.
Reform stopped them.
Now, on May 7th 2026, I, alongside 4,802 other candidates, will give millions of voters the opportunity to renew the message sent to the establishment on May 1st 2025: that the British people are sick of denial, ignorance, and betrayal.
I am very proud to be part of this team. I look forward to continuing the fight on the ground in the lead-up to May 7th and beyond.
Vote Reform on May 7th💙➡️🇬🇧

I've lived in Crawley for over 20 years and supported local charities for the last six.
As a former emergency responder, I've dedicated my life to keeping people safe. I worry for my grandchildren's safety and for the future of our town.
I will fight to make Bewbush and Broadfield safe places to live.
