@lucareverie @blueprintsmb22 There’s no correlation between “new money” and “old money” and how much they pay their personal and household staff.

@blueprintsmb22 This seems like new money, that wage is absurd, unless they disclose all the UTC ways you get extra pay in the interview.

@cremieuxrecueil In middle school, I edited the Wikipedia page of a small country’s US embassy and made my mom the ambassador. She ended up being named as the ambassador in a Harvard Crimson article and she was listed as the ambassador for years on the page as a result.

Thinking about this again: It's nuts. I got editors to admit that it doesn't matter to them if a source is lying, so long as it's listed as "reliable" by the site. Why would anyone use Wikipedia with that standard of evidence? It is almost explicitly a tool to slander people!
Crémieux@cremieuxrecueil

I'm learning a lot from bickering with people on Wikipedia. For example, did you know fraudulent articles can be "reliable" and articles documenting said fraud can be "unreliable" for no other reason than 'some lifeless loser who edits Wikipedia 10 hours a day said so'? Wow!

@HardPass4 John Kiriakou is a long-time news commentator and public advocate who a few years ago made the leap to social media. Do you also think “someone is pushing” all the Epstein memes and clips on every social media app? If so, the secret world order has a great sense of humor.

@Jason You need a “watch guy”, a “car guy”, it’s absurd. I think these companies realize that they can make a lot more money when they build a network of dependent companies and middlemen.

Never mind about the Rolex… had no idea buying one was like buying a Ferrari, where you have to beg, jump though hoops and then buy products you don’t want to get the one you do want! 😂 thought it would be fun to own, but would much prefer to just order something on a website (like a Tesla!) and be done with it. These retail and reseller channels make things far too time consuming Is there a nice watch I can just… order?
@jason@Jason

I would like to purchase this @ROLEX

@sprucemoose304 @puppyeh1 Tesla seems to have screwed customers quite a few times, especially with the new Roadster ordeal. I think SpaceX will be different since they’re selling primarily to governments and other large corporations. Most of the promises they will break will be to investors.

@glencoewri37722 I feel like the divergence point would have to be post-WWII. Perhaps the Soviets advance a bit further to the West, the Communists win the Italian elections, etc...

Got an idea for an alternate history: Timeline where the US won the Cold War from the perspective of someone in a timeline where the Soviets won.

Introducing Libramen. The agent economy is here. Headless services and buy-now buttons are trivial; transactions are already happening. But real-world services don't work that way. They require a scoping and qualification process before a transaction can take place. Libramen solves this so agents can transact autonomously with IRL services. Now your agents can do anything from booking an event space with catering for your hackathon to hiring a contractor to clean your pool. Link below.

@CRFliks @RacePopeIII A large data center uses as much water as an 18-hole golf course. Golf courses use 30x more water than data centers nationwide. Neither pollute the water supply.

@RacePopeIII We're in a record farmland drought. The Iran war strait closure has increased fertilizer cost by 30% & we're seeing higher diesel prices. Soon those higher oil costs will raise prices on ALL goods & services including energy production. Great time to start building data centers.
