Dear Punch Nigeria Limited, Publishers of The Punch @MobilePunch, Re: Inaccurate Reportage on the Strength of Nigeria's Passport Under President Bola Tinubu In your article with the headline "Nigerian passport climbs global ranking, slips in visa-free access," published in The Punch Newspaper today, Wednesday, May 6, 2026, you reported that while Nigeria's passport has risen in strength on the Henley Passport Index, our visa-on-arrival and visa-free access have actually decreased. In particular, you stated that "The most well-documented is Ethiopia, which scrapped visa-on-arrival for Nigerian citizens in October 2022, requiring Nigerians to obtain visas from the Ethiopian embassy in Abuja before travelling. The change came barely two weeks after Ethiopian Airlines emerged as a core investor in the Nigerian national carrier project. Ethiopia, which had been one of the most accessible destinations on the African continent for Nigerian travellers, is now effectively inaccessible by any route." Yes, you are right that Ethiopia scrapped visa-on-arrival access for Nigerian citizens under President Muhammadu Buhari. However, visa-on-arrival access has been restored for citizens of Nigeria under President Bola Tinubu, due to the effective diplomatic engagement undertaken by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs under Her Excellency, Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu, the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs. For example, I travelled to Ethiopia on Saturday, 11 April 2026, with my Standard Nigerian Passport, the standard passport available to all Nigerian citizens, and was issued a visa-on-arrival at Bole International Airport by the Ethiopian Immigration and Citizenship Service. Please find attached a copy of the visa-on-arrival issued to me by the Ethiopian authorities, which is available to all Nigerian citizens. You may also want to verify this information with the Embassy of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia in Abuja by calling 094618649. Additionally, you can call Ethiopian Airlines at +234 201 501 2411 to verify the information. Furthermore, rather than being "inaccessible by any route" for Nigerian citizens, Ethiopian Airlines has, since the Bola Tinubu administration resolved the visa restriction issue, increased its daily flights from various Nigerian airports from one to at least two, and now offers at least ten weekly flights from Abuja to Addis Ababa. So, it is not accurate that Ethiopia is "inaccessible by any route" for Nigerian citizens. The reality is that Ethiopia is accessible to Nigerians by many routes, including Abuja, Lagos, Port Harcourt, and Enugu. For this expanded access, Nigeria has President Bola Tinubu and Barrister Festus Keyamo, SAN, the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, to thank. After confirming this piece of accurate information, you may wish to correct your reportage by stating accurately to the Nigerian public that, not only has Nigeria's passport grown in strength on the Henley Passport Index under President Bola Tinubu, but our visa-free and visa-on-arrival access has also improved under President Bola Tinubu, in particular, due to the efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its very stable and qualified staff, and the Minister of Interior, Mr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, along with the good officers of the Nigerian Immigration Service and its Comptroller-General, Mrs. Kemi Nanna Nandap, in conjunction with the collaborative efforts of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, headed by Ambassador Nasir Aminu. I thank you for your time and your kind and timely action on this matter. Reno Omokri Ambassador Designate to Mexico. Gospeller. The letter is dated 4th December 2025 and was received on 5th December 2025. How then does the NBA seal bear an expiration date of March 2027? Ordinarily, a document executed in 2025 should carry a seal valid up to March 2026, not 2027. This discrepancy raises concerns of possible forgery, backdating, or other fraudulent irregularities. If detected by the NBA, the lawyer involved could face serious professional consequences.

TO OUR BELOVED BROTHERS IN SOUTH AFRICA femifanikayode.org/to-our-beloved… William Shakespeare's 'Julius Caeser' is one of the best plays ever written by history's greatest playwright & it is amongst my favourites. It speaks of mob psychology, ambition, power, treachery & the most brutal & painful expression of betrayal by a loved one. Caeser loved Brutus his protegee above all else but at the end of the day it was Brutus, after others had stabbed him all over the body with their knives, that struck the fatal blow deep into his ageing chest & killed him. The shock of the betrayal by a loved one & his famous last words, "et tu Brute", as he slowly bled & died, (which when translated from Latin to English means "and you too Brutus?") conveyed his anguish & pain. It was not just Brutus' blade that finally took his life but also a broken heart. That is how the Nigerian people feel today as they witness the torment & sheer wickedness that their compatriots are being subjected to in South Africa, a nation that most of us love so deeply & dearly & that we sacrificed so much for historically. The purpose of this contribution is to critically examine what has been going on there &, for the record, these are my personal views & assesment & I do not share them in a representative capacity. Permit me to begin. According to the Nigerian Consulate in Johannesburg at least two Nigerians have been killed as a consequence of the xenophobic tensions & attacks. Their names are Amaramiro Emmanuel & Ekpeyong Andrew. The News Agency of Nigeria reported that, Ninikanwa Okey-Uche, the Consul-General of the Nigerian Embassy in South Africa, said that Emmanuel died from injuries allegedly sustained after being beaten by personnel of the South African National Defence Force on April 20. This raises even more concerns than the ones previously held. It appears that it is not just the South African citizenry that are targetting our people but also elements in the South African Police. Surely Nigerian lives matter as well. The killings, beatings, persecution, humiliation, violence & discrimination that Nigerians, & other African nationals, are being subjected to in South Africa is unacceptable & stands condemned. Nigerian children are being turned back from schools, Nigerian patients are being thrown out of hospitals, Nigerian shoppers are being bundled out of shops, Nigerians stores are being ransacked & forcefully shut, Nigerian workers are being sacked & cast out of their offices & work places, Nigerian homes are being raided, ransacked & burnt, Nigerian diners are being thrown out of restaurants & Nigerian men, women & children are being beaten, insulted, mocked & humiliated in the streets for no just cause & even when & where their immigration papers are complete. South Africans are marching through the streets of their major cities, half naked in tribal wear, singing war songs, brandishing spears & other crude weapons & hunting black African immigrants, including Nigerians, as if they were animals. There is also footage of mobs of angry South African women beating up African immigrant women in the streets even whilst the latter were holding up bibles. Worse of all are the cases of wild & hostile crowds of South African males chasing & stripping African immigrant women, including Nigerians, naked in the streets, beating them to a pulp & sexually violating them in the full glare of a sea of angry, wild & depraved young men who recorded the disgusting spectacle with their telephones. A number of years ago the great South African reggae singer Lucky Dube was killed by a mob of South Africans simply because they believed he was Nigerian. That is how deep the hatred for their fellow Africans has eaten into the psyche & afflicted the minds of some of our South African brothers & sisters. This is bedlam. It is evil. It is wicked. It is cruel. And it is like a scene from Dante's 7th circle of hell. (CONTINUED BELOW 👇👇👇)

@renoomokri You’ve highlighted key achievements that many critics conveniently ignore. The contrast between organisation and confusion in opposition camps is very evident here.

Seven Indisputable Reasons Why President Bola Tinubu Will Be Re-elected In 2027 Reason One: Seven months to the Saturday, January 16, 2027, Presidential Election, and there is ABSOLUTE CLARITY in the camp of President Bola Tinubu and the APC. But the gentlemen in these other parties claim they are still consulting on the best way forward for them politically. If between 2023 and 2026, you cannot decide which is the best way forward for you, then how can you decide what is the best way forward for Nigeria in four years? Reason Two: President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress are running on their record in office, including delivering twelve cycles of GDP growth, and trade surpluses, adding $67 billion to the economy in just two years, and making Nigeria the 6th largest contributor to global GDP growth in 2025. What is the opposition running on? Insulting each other and undermining their rivals within their own parties? Reason Three: President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress are stable, steady, and ready, whereas these individuals disparaging the Tinubu administration are unstable, unready, and unsteady. Nigeria obviously needs a steady hand at the helm, not unsteady hands that cry for help. Reason Four: President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress are organised, while his rivals in the opposition and their parties are agonised. This organisation, entrenched by the Tinubu government, is why the last three years have been the first and only time the Academic Staff Union of Universities has gone without a national strike. Under Tinubu, a four-year course is a four-year course. In addition, approximately one million Nigerian undergraduates are in school courtesy of the President's interest-free student loans. Compare this to the disorganised nature of these individuals, who had multiple ASUU strikes during their time in office. If these individuals ever get to power, your children may spend six years in university and still won't graduate. Reason Five: President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress are delivering results, while opposition parties are delivering activity. Before President Tinubu, Nigeria was the biggest importer of petrol in Africa. Because of President Tinubu's policies, Nigeria is today the largest exporter of refined petroleum products in West Africa, and among the top 40 countries worldwide. Reason Six: President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress are attracting new supporters, while the opposition is detracting from their own members. Reason Seven: These opposition figures are not even united. They are fighting each other within their party. A country in need of unity cannot be handed to an opposition facing disunity. They are not against President Tinubu or his policies. They just want to be in that seat and will attack the President for the sole reason of their personal ambition. In fact, they prefer President Tinubu to remain in office rather than support another opposition candidate. In conclusion, President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress have the stability, credibility, and ability to continue to govern this nation and unite it by building physical roads and making mental inroads into the hearts and minds of the Nigerian people. No other administration has democratised road construction to the extent that the Tinubu government has, simultaneously connecting the Southwest with the South-South via the 750-kilometre Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway being built for ₦15 trillion, linking the Northwest to the Southwest with the 1068-kilometre Illela-Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway costing ₦13 trillion, and bridging the gap between the Southeast and the entire North through the 465-kilometre Trans-Saharan Road being constructed at a price of an estimated $750 million. In contrast, you have an opposition in disarray, populated by individuals who, when in office, did not build roads, schools, or hospitals.

RT Hon. Rotimi Amaechi is a leader par excellence. Give it to him, he’s earning his place, not waiting for anyone to hand him the ticket. A true contender who understands that leadership is fought for, not gifted. Discipline, experience, and the courage to stand his ground, this is what real politics looks like.
