However, visa-on-arrival access has been restored for citizens of Nigeria under President Bola Tinubu, due to the effective diplomatic engagement undertaken by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs under Her Excellency, Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu, the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs. It speaks of mob psychology, ambition, power, treachery & the most brutal & painful expression of betrayal by a loved one. Caeser loved Brutus his protegee above all else but at the end of the day it was Brutus, after others had stabbed him all over the body with their knives, that struck the fatal blow deep into his ageing chest & killed him. The shock of the betrayal by a loved one & his famous last words, "et tu Brute", as he slowly bled & died, (which when translated from Latin to English means "and you too Brutus?") conveyed his anguish & pain. It was not just Brutus' blade that finally took his life but also a broken heart. That is how the Nigerian people feel today as they witness the torment & sheer wickedness that their compatriots are being subjected to in South Africa, a nation that most of us love so deeply & dearly & that we sacrificed so much for historically. Their names are Amaramiro Emmanuel & Ekpeyong Andrew. The News Agency of Nigeria reported that, Ninikanwa Okey-Uche, the Consul-General of the Nigerian Embassy in South Africa, said that Emmanuel died from injuries allegedly sustained after being beaten by personnel of the South African National Defence Force on April 20. This raises even more concerns than the ones previously held. It appears that it is not just the South African citizenry that are targetting our people but also elements in the South African Police. Surely Nigerian lives matter as well. The killings, beatings, persecution, humiliation, violence & discrimination that Nigerians, & other African nationals, are being subjected to in South Africa is unacceptable & stands condemned. Nigerian children are being turned back from schools, Nigerian patients are being thrown out of hospitals, Nigerian shoppers are being bundled out of shops, Nigerians stores are being ransacked & forcefully shut, Nigerian workers are being sacked & cast out of their offices & work places, Nigerian homes are being raided, ransacked & burnt, Nigerian diners are being thrown out of restaurants & Nigerian men, women & children are being beaten, insulted, mocked & humiliated in the streets for no just cause & even when & where their immigration papers are complete. South Africans are marching through the streets of their major cities, half naked in tribal wear, singing war songs, brandishing spears & other crude weapons & hunting black African immigrants, including Nigerians, as if they were animals. There is also footage of mobs of angry South African women beating up African immigrant women in the streets even whilst the latter were holding up bibles. Worse of all are the cases of wild & hostile crowds of South African males chasing & stripping African immigrant women, including Nigerians, naked in the streets, beating them to a pulp & sexually violating them in the full glare of a sea of angry, wild & depraved young men who recorded the disgusting spectacle with their telephones. A number of years ago the great South African reggae singer Lucky Dube was killed by a mob of South Africans simply because they believed he was Nigerian. That is how deep the hatred for their fellow Africans has eaten into the psyche & afflicted the minds of some of our South African brothers & sisters. This is bedlam. It is evil. It is wicked. Reason Four: President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress are organised, while his rivals in the opposition and their parties are agonised. This organisation, entrenched by the Tinubu government, is why the last three years have been the first and only time the Academic Staff Union of Universities has gone without a national strike. Under Tinubu, a four-year course is a four-year course. In addition, approximately one million Nigerian undergraduates are in school courtesy of the President's interest-free student loans. Compare this to the disorganised nature of these individuals, who had multiple ASUU strikes during their time in office. If these individuals ever get to power, your children may spend six years in university and still won't graduate. Reason Five: President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress are delivering results, while opposition parties are delivering activity. Before President Tinubu, Nigeria was the biggest importer of petrol in Africa. Because of President Tinubu's policies, Nigeria is today the largest exporter of refined petroleum products in West Africa, and among the top 40 countries worldwide. Reason Six: President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress are attracting new supporters, while the opposition is detracting from their own members. Reason Seven: These opposition figures are not even united. They are fighting each other within their party. A country in need of unity cannot be handed to an opposition facing disunity. They are not against President Tinubu or his policies. They just want to be in that seat and will attack the President for the sole reason of their personal ambition. In fact, they prefer President Tinubu to remain in office rather than support another opposition candidate. In conclusion, President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress have the stability, credibility, and ability to continue to govern this nation and unite it by building physical roads and making mental inroads into the hearts and minds of the Nigerian people. No other administration has democratised road construction to the extent that the Tinubu government has, simultaneously connecting the Southwest with the South-South via the 750-kilometre Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway being built for ₦15 trillion, linking the Northwest to the Southwest with the 1068-kilometre Illela-Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway costing ₦13 trillion, and bridging the gap between the Southeast and the entire North through the 465-kilometre Trans-Saharan Road being constructed at a price of an estimated $750 million. In contrast, you have an opposition in disarray, populated by individuals who, when in office, did not build roads, schools, or hospitals.
