Trump’s margin in NC is based ENTIRELY on under-votes. Dems won the whole ballot except the top spot. This makes absolutely NO SENSE! It’s counter to the behavior of both Dems and Republicans. The fact that EVERY swing state went Trump exclusively on under votes

@thejackhopkins US presidents already have legal cover for contentious official actions as long as such actions are cleared by White House Counsel or the AG. When such actions go against their advice (i.e. Jan 6th conspiracy) the President must know these actions are likely criminal.

Are you a citizen of another country reading this post? (For example, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, France, the UK, Ireland, or any of the many other countries.) If so, I have a request. Your direct and honest opinion is what I'm seeking. Could you share your thoughts on the questions asked by the conservative justices of the United States Supreme Court and their implications? I want as many people as possible to see and hear how you perceive what is happening in the United States from where you are. I think it's critical to rouse as many citizens of this country as possible before it's too late, and I think YOU...can play a huge role. Thank you for your contribution. We are in this thing together.

@harrylitman @chrislhayes I'm not sure if it'll change much but the trials will definitely have an impact. "Democrat witch hunt" will have less cut-through when the key prosecution witnesses are Republicans.

I agree very strongly with @chrislhayes's point that the mugshots and visuals of the arrests are making the county turn a corner on understanding of Trump guilt and their acceptance of the need for a trial, at the same time as they diminish him. There is nothing like the visceral qualities of visual evidence like this.
All In with Chris Hayes@allinwithchris

“Maybe the indictments and the mug shot will help Trump win the primary,” says Chris Hayes. “But those are toxic qualities for a candidate heading into a general election. I think the Republican Party, honestly, is utterly deluded about what is going on here.”

@igorsushko Black ops scenario: Prigozhin was killed by anti-Putin forces knowing everyone would assume Putin was behind it. Putin looks bad - The collateral damage would make him look pretty callous, even by his standards.

Another plausible scenario currently: Putin tried to kill Prigozhin by blowing up the plane, but Prigozhin was not on the plane, as his security services constantly execute deception around his travel. There was a 2nd plane. Prigozhin's spokesman isn't confirming his death.

🚨🧵 Likely false claims being made that Prigozhin of Wagner PMC was killed in a plane crash near Moscow in Tver. This stinks of Prigozhin's own plot to disappear. 1. Plane manifest listed Prigozhin as passenger - this is "evidence." 2. Two explosions heard in air before crash.

The Daily Mail wanted a complete break from the EU so the UK would be treated like any other country in the world. The EU is now going to have border controls like many other countries like the US. So suck it up!

@EricBoehm87 Go to the original source rather than use one that spreads disinformation: etias.com/etias-applicat… ETAIS is designed to stop people who will be denied entry into Schengen from even boarding their flight. That's more efficient. Most applications will be approved in minutes.

I feel like this is something that should be a much bigger story than it is: Starting next year, American passport-holders won't have visa-free access to Europe. Instead, you'll have to pay 7 Euros and wait *14 days* for an entry visa to be processed. reason.com/2023/07/28/say…

@Seekingtruth517 @domjoly It's cooler in the UK this July than last year because last year was the hottest July on record and this month is about average (definitely not "one of the coolest"). Also, June 2023 was the hottest June on record.

Great to see that digital exclusion is receiving attention, as it's an issue that *could* get a lot worse in an increasingly data-driven society! Might be of interest to @DataSciCampus too given their related work on broadband accessibility datasciencecampus.ons.gov.uk/using-data-sci…

🤳We're looking into the causes and consequences of digital exclusion 👇Last week Prof @HelenMargetts from @turinginst pointed out that the effects of digital exclusion are likely to be compounded in an increasingly data-driven world:

On 30 January I asked the government to publish the latest statistics on mortality by vaccination status. The UK Statistics Authority have informed me that they plan to release this data on 21 February 2023. It should make for very interesting reading IF it is published!
