This is factually false.
Every post-3 Halo game’s engines—from ODST to 5—still has all the necessary code to implement dual-wielding. The reason it wasn’t brought back outside of balancing issues is because later games required animations be made for it.

If Halo Campaign Evolved us built on Reach, this means Halo 2 remake and Halo 3 remake will be as well. Which means no dual wielding.

@zeddikins Someday hopefully Infinite can be rereleased in a collection or something with the original menus, custom Spartans in campaign cutscenes, a MP story playlist with the cutscenes and Academy missions, MP sandbox additions + ray tracing added to campaign, and sword/skewer customized

It also slowed the whole menu down drastically, and was a performance hog. Whenever you booted Halo Infinite up, it'd max out people's GPUs almost all the time because of this menu.

I absolutely hate how many loose ends Infinite has made. Just because Halo 5 was a failure doesn't mean the characters in it were bad, they were good characters just not utilized properly. Scraping Halo 5s story doesn't mean the fans stopped caring about these characters.

It's honestly a huge shock how much halo infinite left on the table & to just not explore anything Halo 5 set up at all.
They didn't fully scrap the story though, but thank god the main people who wrote infinite's story are no longer at the studio.

@Nighterlev Ignoring the other half of what I said. Origins 1 and 2 take the history of what is known from 1 to before 4. So forerunners saved DNA and started over while keeping the flood contained in certain instalation for study.
