I like Pokémon as well as both Pittsburgh AND Toronto sports. sue me. no politics on my page.

Palworld just hit full release and can't recapture the momentum it had at launch. Its momentum came from the Early Access label and the controversy over creature designs that weere copy paste Pokémon. At what point do you admit you aided scammers?

Palworld is gonna make the industry worse with how their "fans" defend blatant plagiarism I can understand why AI is popular because people do not value artists. With Palworld, people only support it to get back at Pokemon and not because of true artistic merit

🚨 Nintendo has 30 years, $150 billion in franchise revenue and the most recognizable IP in entertainment history Pocketpair had 4 people, a bucket of USB drives This weekend Palworld hit 855,000 concurrent players on Steam 👇 CEO Takuro Mizobe left JPMorgan, made money in crypto and founded Pocketpair in 2015 with $10,000 Their first game was never released The main 3D artist was a high schooler working at the convenience store the team frequented, hired after DMing them gun reload animations he made for fun No version control, files saved on USB drives, switched to Unreal Engine late with zero experience Then the internet accused them of copying Pokémon designs Nintendo filed a patent lawsuit in September 2024 Today Palworld is the second most played game on Steam Most unlikely success story in gaming this generation

@freemysol I won’t lmao. And by the way choosing to play Palworld is also choosing to be kicked out of the Pokémon community. You Palslop losers are neither need or wanted.

It is truly sad that "we won't hike the price after early access" is such a win in this industry. Granted I don't think I'd be crazy upset at a $10 increase but I appreciate that they didn't because the optics win is the main reason they hit 40 million players in the first place

🚨Palworld just achieved what Pokémon has not managed in years 855,525 concurrent players on Steam this Sunday Second most played game on the entire platform behind only Counter-Strike 2 Pokémon has been the biggest gaming franchise in the world for 30 years And a small indie studio from Japan just outpaced it with a survival game about creatures with guns What do you think Pokémon needs to do to compete with this?

Literally the only thing they have in common is that they're both whales.
