Poland just opened a 24/7 library in a subway station in Warsaw.
The library has 16,000 books and was created to encourage people to spend more time reading books on their commute instead of scrolling on their phones.

The name #BarBoia @Boia_Nit is synonymous with the village of #Cadaqués. Its closure due to “The Shores Law” is incomprehensible - it will be much missed.

The Club is saddened to report the passing of Town legend Trevor Whymark at the age of 74.
Trevor, who scored 104 goals in 335 appearances for the Club, died peacefully surrounded by his family.
Rest in peace, Trevor. 💙

I was just reading about Johnie Walker, the disc jockey, recording his final BBC show & it brought back wonderful memories to me of his regular 11pm slot on Radio Caroline playing Percy Sledge. Do others remember?

Wise words @Philippa_Perry. All guilty but feel the young need to be encouraged (taught?)to interact & communicate verbally as opposed to messaging (esp those in same room!) & becoming fearful of making phone calls.

I think as a race, since we stopped talking to each other and started texting instead, our communication skills have deteriorated. People now have a tendency to have relationships with others in their heads instead of with the other person. STOP IT! Talk to each other.

Is there a braver man in the world than the BBC’s Russia correspondent Steve Rosenberg? I can’t think of one. Every time I see him on the News I want to say: “Come home. You’ve done enough’.

Trump may be lazy @gerardtbaker but his appetite for self-aggrandisement coupled with respect & admiration for Putin, Kim Jong-un even seemingly Hitler + his determination not to listen to advisors makes him indeed a very, very dangerous person for US & rest of the free world.

F/O Ludwik Paszkiewicz from the legendary Polish 303 Squadron scored its first victory! He broke the rules by shooting down a German plane during a training flight. Upon returning to Northolt, he was reprimanded and then congratulated. The next day, 303 Squadron was declared operational.
Paszkiewicz was born #OTD in 1907.
