@FightersEdge1 Thanks for the response. And don't get me started with the guides! I still have my physical Gamepro mag. Of course, the official Spanish translation. It was eye-opener, to say the least. I was 13 at the time.

Hi Manuel and thank you for the question. 👍 CMKA was an offshoot of the CSFA. MK2 was imo an exceptionally entertaining game. Not only the level os SF2 as a competition platform, but still very entertaining. The graphics were strong and the sound effect incredible so I held Tpurnaments for MK for a time. Martin Vega a top 30-40 in SF2, was probably one of if not the strongest MK2 player at the time. We did one of if not the first MK2 strategy guide for 'The Fighter's Edge' in 1994. Martin and Mike Guzman helped me with that.

Hey Fam, Hope everyone is having a wonderful day. 🤙 My next series of posts is probably going to take 2 or 3 days to write. I'm still here on 'The Fighter's Edge', but it's going to take a bit to share and cover what I want. So... In the meantime, feel free to ask questions about any subject you'd like. I'll answer them here on this thread or quote-Tweet and answer them. I look forward to hearing from you. #RetroGaming #ArcadeEra #Arcade #FGC #StreetFighter #StreetFighter2

As a Teen one of my 2 Home Arcades was 'Electric Planet' in Montebello. It was a small place of maybe just 1200 or so sq feet, but it was tightly organized and they carried all the best new games. My friend Tony loved Asteroids and was quite strong at it. He'd stay on the game almost the entire time we'd be playing. Most of the times on just 1 or 2 quarters and we were always there for at least an hour. I preferred Robotron 2084 and would stay locked in on that game. Electric Planet helped to solidify in me what we now call 'Arcade Culture'. I had played games all my life and now I began regularly making trips to Arcades with my friends. To me playing games also meant learning games with my buds. Arcades meant Community. #Arcade #ArcadeEra #RetroGaming #ArcadeCulture

Hello Fam, it's been awhile... I'd like to share a few things but first I owe all of you an apology. Last year when I launched this @FightersEdge1 X Page with our announced return to the scene, you all welcomed and embraced us with open arms. There are almost no words that adequately describe how that made me feel and I thank you all for that. 🙏 How you all regularly engaged with me and oGSocal's history here on 'The Fighter's Edge' was something that made my day every day I was here with you all. I do not take any of your support or enthusiasm for granted. And it's because of your support I want to say this... I'm sorry that I suddenly stopped posting in the middle of last Summer. Here is what happened... Away from this page, behind the scenes through the first half of 2025, I was working quite hard on a number of 'Fighter's Edge' projects. I was busy and happy with the general direction of things. However in the middle of last Summer I had an emergency issue at my Apartment. A flood occurred and went through a large part of my place. At the end of it all I lost quite a bit of personal property as well as technical equipment. The situation left the property where I lived no choice but to immediately start repair and remediation. In order for them to start I had to move out, and the time frame to complete the move was only 5 days. By the grace of God and the help of friends I was able to move but everything involved with the entirety of the situation left me exhausted. What would normally be a 45 day or so moving process I had to finish in less than a week, working at it 18+ hours a day. Personal and technical items were lost due to water damage, and my entire PC station setup needed to be re-built. Thank the Lord for his love and strength as He held me and my focus together through it all. He healed and strengthened those parts of me needing His love and attention. King of kings and Lord of lords. The Almighty is Faithful and I love Him. Always... ❤️✝️ Dealing with the aftermath of the flood left me at a point where I needed to rest, reset and rebuild everything including my inner strength. Over the last number of months since, that's what I've been doing. Rebuilding what needed rebuilding, counting the cost and 'resetting' my inner compass. It hasn't been easy but the Almighty is gracious and helped restore me. I am so thankful. 🙌 Now it's time to drop in another quarter and continue our Journey... 🕹️ I'll be here once again re-living the 'World's Finest Golden Era' with you while continuing my work behind the scenes on projects I look forward to sharing with you all. Once again thank you for all your support. Thank you for everything you've shared with me and with others here on 'The Fighter's Edge'. Your support means everything to me. Your love for Street Fighter and enthusiasm for it's earliest competitive History is why I love doing what I do. 🥊

Very cool and detailed interview with an old school innovator that deserves his flowers. His name is "Sicdic" and yes, that's sounds just like it's spelled lol. Give it a read if you're interested in the beginnings of combo videos and Mortal Kombat. Nice article @NinjaGrinder 👍

OG Mortal Kombat Combomakers interview series continues, this time with Sicdic! It's a must read if you remember Gamecombos and you're into CMVs. Thanks to @SuperDojo for making it possible. ninjagrinder.blogspot.com/2026/04/mortal…

For those who were wanting to read the BAMA article I wrote for 'The Fighter's Edge' April 1994, here it is. BAMA was the defacto National Championship that Season. 200+ players total. A dozen or so players from SoCal made the trip & oG SoCal took home 4 of the top 5 places. 🥊 #StreetFighter2 #SF2 #FGC #TomoOhira @FightersEdge1

@fightelement @Evo Right, I was just mentioning what they stated on the video. I know you're the real deal, Tragic. Much respect! But people just don't know/ won't do research or once again, re write history

@NinjaGrinder @Evo That is definitely not true. It came from Alpha 3 Nationals. I said "The beast has been unleashed" when Daigo was going off on team USA. Also, same time and place "press some buttons, Cole" came from.

Best believe stories were told… SoCal, east coast, the south, and the mid west; 50+ years of fighting game history, all bonded by our love for them. Video will be dropped by @Evo at a later time!
