Eliminating USAID—which prevents famines, counters extremism, and creates more markets for U.S. exports—would make the world a more dangerous place for Americans and be a gift to China and Russia.

The hostile shutdown of USAID and the ongoing attacks and displacement of USAID workers is as illegal as it is shocking. Trump and Musk’s actions will have global repercussions, jeopardizing lives and undermining America’s leadership on the world stage.

We have learnt of the sad passing on of our Olympic athlete Rebecca Cheptegei OLY following a vicious attack by her boyfriend. May her gentle soul rest in peace and we strongly condemn violence against women. This was a cowardly and senseless act that has led to the loss of a great athlete.
