Our agency growth is bottlenecked by the limited pool of senior @bubble developer talent. That's because Bubble engineering is actually only about 50% of the skills needed to become an exceptional developer. People will come out a Bubble basics bootcamp and be able to build something that works and think that's sufficient to be hireable. That's not true. It's what I look for when finding talent, and I want to see more of it in the Bubble ecosystem, so that I can hire you too. Something we do when hiring Bubble devs that I think more agencies should try We clone a real client app, and give the candidate a simulated client task to work through. It's normally a simple task that good developers should complete within 45 minutes. But it works because it forces developers to show how they familiarise themselves with a new app, and build a mental model of their solution before touching the editor. The best Bubble developers can think through their entire plan without experimenting in the editor because they know exactly what to expect and what limitations Bubble might throw at them. It's definitely challenging, so most other agencies do an async task, but we do it live because I'm less interested in the result than I am how they approached the problem and think about it.
