@Tex_SithLord Purist take: if it has beans, it’s not Texas Red.
It’s something else…and that’s fine.
English

@NoBeansTexasRed Starts off as just meat (chili) then in goes the beans if you choose, it's not that complicated nor controversial
English

テキサスでは、チリは豆ではなく、肉とチリから始まります。
そのため、豆がなくても欠けているわけではありません。
これがテキサス・レッドという伝統です。

To all of my new Japanese followers… In Texas we Add Beans in our Chili. 🙏🏽🫘🌶️
日本語

@StonedFishin214 @MoePower444044 Fair enough…most folks just call it chili.
‘Texas Red’ is the traditional name for the original Texas style: meat and chile, no beans.

@Vermillionfor46 @realSiLeNTxGuRu @bruddahmateo Recipe = 2 lbs. beef shoulder, ½-inch cubes 1 lb. pork shoulder, ½-inch cubes Flour ¼ cup suet ¼ cup pork fat 3 onions, chopped 6 garlic, minced 1 quart water 4 ancho chilies 1 serrano chili 6 dried red chilies 1tbs Cumin 2tbs Oregano Salt Do not include beans.
English

@NoBeansTexasRed @MoePower444044 Quite frankly I've never heard of Texas Red and I consider myself pretty darn Texan compared to most standards.. so if this is something that is truly Texas then I must know
English

@TasmaniacTX @realSiLeNTxGuRu @MichelleSp86277 Right…change the foundation and it becomes something else.
English

@realSiLeNTxGuRu @MichelleSp86277 @NoBeansTexasRed If for some completely inexplicable reason I decided to add beans to my lasagna, would it still be lasagna?
English

日本の皆さんへ、敬意を込めて。
テキサスのチリは本質だけ。
肉、チリ(唐辛子)、そして時間。
加えないのは不足ではなく完成。
削ぎ落として強さを表す—それがテキサス・レッド。 🇺🇸🤝🏽🇯🇵

@TasmaniacTX Exactly. When tradition matters, beans don’t make the cut.
English

@NoBeansTexasRed The Terlingua International Championship Chili Cookoff strictly forbids the use of beans in its competition chili, adhering to the authentic Texas "bowl of red" tradition.
English

@Hellbound8541 That comparison only works if you ignore what’s actually in it.
English

@PatPowe05917155 @NoBeansTexasRed Lol. In reality I would only do pintos in my chili. I am sencond gen Texan
English

@PatPowe05917155 @PhillupMcC97971 6th generation or not…beans are a preference.
Texas Red is a tradition.
English

@PhillupMcC97971 @NoBeansTexasRed I'm a 6th generation Texan and sometimes put beans in chili. Fritos and cheese too.
But that's gross. What is that cannellini? Eww
English

@gretathegreek Soup runs. Chili gravy holds.
That should tell you everything.
English

@FrozenAsada That comparison only works if you don’t understand either one.
English

@NoBeansTexasRed That's a Bolognese. A southwestern Bolognese.
English

@NoBeansTexasRed Can't wait to see the hot dogs or spaghetti you slap that onto
English

@JayCCalhoun Texas Red was never built around beans…it was built around meat and chile.
English

@NoBeansTexasRed Texas does everything great. But no beans in chili is just a bridge too far.
English

@Spamsammich69 Meat and chili gravy…built in the pot.
That’s the point.
English

@NoBeansTexasRed So meat and gravy. Also, it looks like it's been eaten already.
English

@catnjustme Looks similar until you understand it.
One’s a sauce…this is the main event.
English

@MoePower444044 @StonedFishin214 Beans don’t make it stew…but they do make it something other than Texas Red.
English

@StonedFishin214 @NoBeansTexasRed Just adding some beans to chili does not turn it into stew. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
English

@MoePower444044 Ingredients not included. Looks like it’s still cooking down.
English

@NoBeansTexasRed Whatever that is, it's probably delicious, but it's definitely not chili.
