Gage Wood finishes off his first outing of the season with his seventh strikeout. It was the only one of Wood’s 7 punchies that was looking. He finishes with 4 IP, 1 hit, 0 runs, 7 Ks, 1 BB … averaged 96.5 on his fastball, and had 13 swings and miss, including 9 on his fastball

My strong guess: The Eagles sit a number of starters this weekend.
That said, you can't sit everybody. There will need be starters/regulars on the field. This isn't like a third preseason game.

Sirianni offered more detail on the thought process and explained how beneficial the off week was when the Eagles made the Super Bowl in 2022 and 2024. In 2022, they had a bye because of the No. 1 seed. In 2024, they rested their players in Week 18. He kept referring to the marathon of a season — a good view into how he's thinking this week. It's not as simple as try to get the No. 2 seed — at least from his perspective.

The Strahm-Bowlan trade by itself actively makes the 2026 Phillies worse. I can't believe there wasn't a better return out there. But I will be more optimistic if it results in an upgrade somewhere else. So, I guess we wait and see.

By the way, just because a poll is an outlier doesn’t mean it cannot come to fruition.
It just means the result is very different from other polls taken around the same time.
