man I’m sitting on my deck under my umbrella catching the breeze… thinking about how incredibly random and unscripted life can be… A year ago a I was walking toward catastrophe and didn’t fully know it yet… now I sit here, by myself but not alone as I was then..

@SherwoodStrauss @JonesOnTheNBA … you say that with so much certainty about Draymond what makes you so certain? Defense is HALF, so that means other HALF matters too. “…defensive superstar” is fine but again he was in a unique situation that allowed him to be that, context matters.

Eh, Draymond wasn’t Barkley, but he was the 2nd best player on a 73 win team. Defense is half the game but a lot of NBA discourse seems to reject the premise of a defensive superstar
Corey Walker 🇺🇸@CoreyWriting

Barkley was so much better of a player than Draymond ever was. This is just disrespectful and an example of why judging players by rings is stupid. Barkley had to go against peak Jordan. Draymond was 3rd/4th fiddle on the modern equal to the 90's Bulls.

He’s needs a mental break from social and the world! A hard reset we call it!

@MikeAScotto @JonesOnTheNBA Listen I understand what he did for them— but we aren’t going to act we don’t have actual real receipts of him not meeting moment time after time. One game doesn’t erase playoff failures. So “…nobody can say sh*t to me” is a dope sound bite but that’s it.

Detroit Pistons coach JB Bickerstaff on Tobias Harris: “Nobody can say shit to me about Tobias Harris. He is dependable, reliable, prepared for the moment. He’s a leader. He’s a great teammate. He’s a great human being. He’s a high-level competitor.”

Huh? They were favored to come out of the east Heavy favorites in the series Led 3-1 Great regular season story
Mike Greenberg@Espngreeny

So much respect for the way the #Celtics approached this entire season. Never gave an inch, Jalen Brown MVP level, Jayson Tatum coming back so fast. It ends well before they wanted, but they did it right this year.

@NielsenSTL @rBillSimmonsPod He’s laid groundwork early to that he can always say “I told you so” if they lose and if they win… he gets to say how tough they are and how’s delighted he is to be wrong.. live look at him walking into Ringer office..

Joel Embiid: "It also helps when I saw number 11 on their team, before I came back, he said they didn't care if I was playing or not, and they hadn't even adjusted or had some sort of game plan for me. So I think it also helps when the other team doesn't worry about you."

Payton Pritchard on Joel Embiid being upgraded to available just before Game 4, via @zm_cox: "We just changed maybe a small adjustment before the game, but we didn’t talk about it at all."

I went way too far on criticizing Embiid in the past and have regretted it since. I will stay on this side, but it's genuinely good for genuinely great fans that he's having this moment. I do think Maxey is just insanely great; I almost had him 5th on first team All-NBA. Grimes is great. Edgecomb is a badass. And I'm insanely happy for Kelly Oubre Jr. who I think genuinely wants to be a winner.

@KevinOConnor … don’t be an ass— it’s not “.. very sixers” they were and would be in expected to lose @ Celts in a game 7 with or without Tatum. You know that so don’t this now.. they have a an Embiid whose not 100.% a PG I was told to was washed..

@HPbasketball That’s a take that I think is reasonable— I hate it as a 6ers fan but I think everyone can fall back into there roles!

I like this Sixers team a lot, the most of any Embiid era team. I also kind of think Tatum being out helps Boston. Not because Tatum is bad, but their offense was better balanced and they fell back into bad patterns the deeper this series went with him

@CuffsTheLegend … no doubt still great player, I think some are frustrated with how he has been covered and protected when he loses and overall coverage of him like b/c he has a serious face and likes horses that he is a more special than other starts who happed to show more personality.

Jokic is still Top 2 in the world and i don’t look at him any differently as a player just because his flawed TEAM lost to a hot Minnesota TWolves team. A lot of folks just flat out don’t like Jokic because he’s a foreigner and he’s not all smiles & giggles with the media. You can’t name a NBA franchise who wouldn’t build their whole franchise around Jokic. Nuggets front office deserves some blame for overpaying the wrong pieces around Jokic as well. Big Joker will be just fine.

@tomhaberstroh … better than what? Is it accurate stat? Are we required to only use stats you approve of? It’s unreal how instantaneous his defenders reach in their closets for their capes for only this guy seemingly.

@danorlovsky7 … you are going to such great lengths to defend this decision, why? Are you going to tell me that Dejean and Mitchell did not literally change Eagles fortunes or Emmanwori for Seahawks?! It’s certainly realistic and proven that rookies CAN make huge difference.

The idea that the Rams should have punted on a future QB they love in the name of a “win-now” WR is shortsighted and foolish. No rookie can be expected to swing his team’s championship probability that much.

"This is a Sean McVay decision. Make no doubts about it." —@PSchrags "If you think the Rams are 52 catches and 4 touchdowns away from a wide receiver from going to the Super Bowl and winning it, you're out of your mind." —@danorlovsky7 "I want guys that can help me right now win a Super Bowl." —@damienwoody The crew reacts to the Rams drafting QB Ty Simpson 👀
