WSJ Author asserts financial incentives have led to kids receiving ASD diagnoses who don’t have it. So old # s may be true, but the current ones are inflated. Hmm.. If true >2/3 of all ASD diagnoses done by professionals on 8yr olds would have to be false.. Here’s the math: CDC ASD prevalence for 8yr olds -2006: 9 per 1000 -2020: 28 per 1000 Now if we assume 2006 is correct, then 19 of the 28 eight yr olds diagnosed in 2020, didn’t really have it. (67.8%) So the vast majority of modern diagnoses are false? But wait, the author says that the growth is due to law changes in 1973 and 1990, so she's implying that even the 2006 number must be severely inflated. But, uh oh, that means that even >67% of all ASD diagnoses done in 2020 by professionals on 8 year old children are false. Really? We’re supposed to believe this? t.co/sPfGkCDAp6
