US President Ronald Reagan was shown "WarGames" (1983) at Camp David the weekend it was released. He loved the movie but it also freaked him out. A few days later, at a White House meeting that included the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Reagan asked, “Could something like this really happen? Could someone break into our most sensitive computers?” The answer came back a week later: “Mr. President, the problem is much worse than you think.” That led not only to a significant revamp of how computer security was handled at the Defense Department, but also passage of an anti-hacking law that would eventually evolve into US Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, 1986. Clips of "WarGames" (1983) were shown during the congressional hearings where lawmakers debated the need for hacking legislation. ("How Sci-Fi Like ‘WarGames’ Led to Real Policy During the Reagan Administration", Kevin Bankston, New America, 2018) P.S: On this day, 43 years ago, John Badham's "WarGames" (1983) premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, France.

@hashjenni @bethanybelton If Donald falls, so does Elon. They are both tied at the hip for election meddling and financial corruption. I expect the Democrats to prosecute Elon, when they win the WH again and Elmo will flee to Russia or throw Trump under the bus

BREAKING: Elon Musk's baby mama reveals that he used "space technology" in the 2024 election and implies that he STOLE it for Donald Trump. This deserves a full federal investigation by Democrats... "In October, Elon tells me that he is ready to release his, in his words 'anomaly in the matrix' And I am like, oh, like, who's that? And he says that he has 10,000 lasers in space, referring to his satellites," said Ashley St. Clair, one of the many women whom Musk has impregnated and then promptly began treating like dirt. "I say, because I am like, rather uncomfortable, and I know the gravity of what he's trying to tell me right now. I say, 'Wow, finally, a focus on the Jewish vote. He keeps going," she continued. "And he says, you know, this is not something on, this is not a piece that they'll see on the chessboard." "And I straight up tell him, I say, I would ask more, but I really don't want to be deposed, to which he says, very wise," she added. The implication here is clearly that Musk was doing something illegal and that St. Clair wanted plausible deniability. "Shortly after that, you know, he's involved with AmericaPAC and all of this other stuff, and he's sending me some internal data from AmericaPAC, real time delta vote metrics," recounted St. Clair. "And I am just like, how the f*ck do you have this sort of data? You don't get this from door knocking, because that was my first one of my first jobs in politics was in campaigns and cleaning up this bad data from door knocking, because the vendors that AmericaPAC is using at this point is a vendor that hires Craigslist crackheads for door knocking. And I wish I was exaggerating there, but I'm not." St. Clair said that she now recognizes that she "caused harm" with her "rhetoric" when she was leaning into being a far-right persona, but claimed that she only ever wanted what's "best" for America. Clearly, she feels that she can no longer in good conscience remain silent on 2024. "And one thing is I have always, always hated big tech," she said. "So then to have arguably the most powerful man in the world, who is sending me things about, you know, using his space technology in the election. I should also say that I have all of this backed up with many people with explicit instructions, should anything happen to me, okay." "But this was something that I was internally wrestling with, while publicly not really showing that I was having any of these internal ethical conflicts with myself regarding this information," she went on. "And then on election night itself, Elon, you know, left Mar-a-Lago early. I was at Mar-a-Lago and he told me, he told me over text, he's like, 'Yeah, I knew hours ago that Trump won. My team has the best real-time data anywhere,'" said St. Clair. "First of all, how the f*ck do you have real-time data on elections?" she continued. "How do you have real-time data? I could not understand that. I don't know that I ever will. I just, I saw some shit, guys. Like, I saw some shit and I'm fighting really hard to keep my voice because I saw shit that impacts everyone. And if I was self-interested, I have been offered the self-interested deal to shut up and not talk about anything. But what I can tell you is I've not been offered certain deals just because I know that he's weird." "Okay. I saw some shit," she concluded. This woman must be immediately subpoenaed to testify before Congress under oath about the "shit" she saw. If Elon Musk — who spent $291 million to help Republicans during the 2024 cycle — really used his technology to illegally interfere in our elections, he must be prosecuted and imprisoned. And if any votes were tampered with, the election must be overturned! Please ❤️ and share to demand a full investigation!

Being 43 is wild. People your age are living completely different lives. Some are grandparents. Some are raising toddlers. Some are newly divorced. Some are newly engaged. Some haven’t slept in three years. Some are in St. Tropez posting Aperol spritzes from a yacht. Some look 25. Some look like they personally remember the invention of Tupperware. Nobody got the same assignment.

In 1974, Sylvester Stallone was walking around Hollywood with a worn script under his arm and almost no one willing to listen. It was Henry Winkler, then a rising star from Happy Days, who stopped and believed in him when everyone else had already dismissed him. At the time, Stallone was in a difficult situation. He was going from audition to audition without success, had very little money, and was desperately trying to sell a handwritten screenplay he considered his only real chance. That script was called Rocky. He had written it in just a few days after watching the fight between Muhammad Ali and Chuck Wepner. Inside that story was much of his own life: struggle, rejection, and the feeling of constantly being underestimated. Film studios read the script and recognized its power, but they all had one condition: the lead role had to go to an established actor. Stallone refused every time. He would rather stay broke than see another actor play Rocky Balboa. One day, after yet another failed audition, he found himself in a casting office with the tired expression of someone who had been fighting too long without success. Henry Winkler noticed him almost by chance. At the time, Winkler was becoming famous for his role as Fonzie in Happy Days. He could have ignored Stallone like so many others did. Instead, he stopped to talk to him. Years later, Winkler said Stallone looked like one of those actors Hollywood had already decided to discard. But when Stallone began talking about the plot of Rocky, something completely changed. He spoke with a conviction that felt impossible to fake. Winkler asked to read the script. He took it home and finished it overnight. The next day, he called his agent, Jackie Lewis, telling her that this young man had something authentic and that she absolutely needed to meet him. It was a decisive phone call. Jackie Lewis agreed to represent him, and the script finally began circulating among influential people in the industry. It eventually reached producers Irwin Winkler and Robert Chartoff, who immediately understood the story’s potential. Even then, however, studios wanted a big star in the lead role. Major names such as Ryan O’Neal and James Caan were considered. But Stallone kept saying no. He would only sell the film if he could play Rocky himself. In the end, the producers convinced United Artists to take the risk. They reduced the budget and agreed to give the lead role to an almost unknown actor. The rest is cinema history. Rocky won three Academy Awards and turned Stallone into a global star. In later years, Stallone often recalled how important Henry Winkler’s support had been at that moment in his life. He said that that trust came precisely when he was beginning to lose hope. And Winkler never publicly took credit for it. He simply saw something in a man that everyone else had stopped seeing.

🚨 MAN BUYS 80 PIZZA HUTS TO BRING BACK THE ICONIC VERSION AMERICA MISSED — AND PEOPLE ARE LOSING THEIR MINDS Tim Sparks, president of Daland Corporation, owns more than 80 Pizza Hut franchises across the country, and he’s now turning many of them back into the old-school Pizza Huts millions of Americans grew up with. While most restaurant chains keep replacing everything with self-checkout screens, gray walls, and sterile modern redesigns… Sparks is bringing back the version people actually remember: • red plastic cups • Pac-Man machines • packed salad bars • giant family booths • Tiffany-style lamps hanging over the tables And people are getting unexpectedly emotional over it. Some of these restored “classic” Pizza Huts are now becoming top-performing locations because customers say it doesn’t just feel like pizza anymore… It feels like stepping back into a completely different era of life. Sparks says the mission is bigger than nostalgia. He wants to rebuild places where families actually sit together again, put their phones down, and talk the way they used to. Now the internet is flooding the comments: • “This feels more human than modern restaurants” • “We didn’t realize how good we had it” • “This is what childhood felt like” • “Why does this make me emotional?” Some customers are reportedly driving HOURS just to eat inside one because they say modern restaurants lost the feeling that made people love them in the first place. Now people are asking: Did corporations deliberately turn restaurants into cold, forgettable spaces... because real human connection was never the priority anymore? 📹: CBS19

Trump: Obama, Biden, spent more than $100 million on the reflecting lake. Some people say $200 million. You know what they got out of it? A closed lake, it never opened. It was a disaster. I'm doing a job on the reflecting lake for a fraction of what they paid.

🇺🇸 🇨🇦 This week, separatists handed in 302,000 signatures to trigger an Alberta referendum. The same week, Canada’s intelligence chief confirmed the process is vulnerable to foreign interference. A formal research report named the United States and Russia as the two powers working to break Canada apart. American officials met separatist leaders in Washington. Tucker Carlson called Canada “not sovereign” and suggested coercive regime change. That is word for word the language Putin used before invading Ukraine. The influencers pushing this content were being paid by the Russian government through a front company. Russian money. American faces. Canadian target. Russia works covertly. America works openly. Both want the same thing: a broken Canada. Full piece is up. 🧵 Follow @Gandalv
