Context matters. NFL games have only ~11 minutes of actual play time amid constant stops and huddles. Soccer runs continuous for 90+ minutes on a huge pitch. That's why even keepers like Nyland hit 6+ km per match while skill positions in football average closer to 3 km and linemen less. Different sports, different demands.

@TaylorTwellman I have friends that are fed up about VAR and officiating across all leagues in across Europe! The officiating leading up to the red cards was terrible. No yellows to any players when Bosnia was committing blatant fouls deserving of yellow cards. Im glad this was offset!!

And we got absolute 🦗 from the UEFA members when it came to Ronaldo and his disappearing 2 game ban before the tournament. Their silence spoke volumes about who and what they represent.

@TaylorTwellman Pretty pathetic that everyone outside the USA wants these red cards upheld in a tournament that happens every 4 years on the biggest stage. All complain about “integrity of rules” and rules were followed to suspend Baloguns red.

Belgium isn’t upset because the US is at full strength. They’re upset because FIFA made a call, then decided the call didn’t matter.
This isn’t about competitive advantage.
It’s about the integrity of the rules.
